This feels well-made and is just the right amount of tension to hold the 9.2oz canister from falling out accidentally, while still allowing you to pull it out smoothly and rapidly when you need to.I'll update this review if anything changes as I put more use on this.

Good product

Made me feel safe having my spray at the ready. I saw one bear, but he decided not to try me...

Fits the spray canister well; grips well enough to secure the can during hiking, but it's easy to pull out when you need it. The belt loop is about 2-7/8" high, and non-elastic; plenty for a belt, but may not fit over some pack hip belts (especially if you have belt pouches you can't or don't want to take off to slide this on). For chest use, the packaging states "For chest holster, see enclosed instructions", which there weren't any of, so... you'll have to improvise as you would with anything with a loop for a horizontal belt. I'd probably go 3 stars for backpack use, but I don't think they've made any claims for that--they picture the holster on normal belts, and it is just fine for that.

good quality perfect fit

I bought this two years ago after I was attacked by 2 loose dogs while riding my horse on the trail (she sustained lacerations to her face and legs and it was awful).Now I always ride with it. And I used it recently for the first time when another loose dog attacked us and it was very powerful. It has a loud spray sound that startled my horse and the dog but when it came back at us again I was able to get him and he stopped attacking us. Fortunately my horse was not injured by the dog this time.The carrying options are great and make it easily accessible which this time made all the difference.

UPDATE: I notified Amazon that the strap was missing and they replaced the entire product at no charge and in one day. So I wanted to update my review from one to five stars and also say that I highly recommend this product. It is well made, great value, and exactly what I needed. Thank you Amazon for being such a great company with great products. Highly recommend!I had read the reviews and though some said the chest strap didn't come with the holder, others stated it was inside the sleeve. But this arrived today and sure enough there was no chest strap included. I bought this specifically because of the chest strap since the bear spray came with a sleeve to put through your belt. (I don't wear a belt) The back of the packaging states "for chest holster, see enclosed instructions" but there were no instructions either. I would not recommend this product if you are looking for anything other than a belt holder for your bear spray. Call me disappointed. I plan on returning this as false advertising or defective (missing parts).
