Q: I have 54" opening (on a 64" wall)and plan to put a 60" bypassing track with (2) 30" doors on it. This will cover my pantry. Will this work?

If the opening you want to cover is in the middle of the wall you'll need overlap at the ends as well as in the middle, so you may need doors larger than 30". Also be aware that there's a gap between the wall and the door, so you'll be able to see into the pantry as you pass by the end of the door, unless you add a perpendicular board there as a flange (we did this, painting the wood to match the wall, and it blocks that passing-by view into our utility room without looking strange.) The product photo shows the gap, but the shadows in the picture obscure the fact that you can see into the space on the other side of the doors.

I installed the double door by-pass. The inside door is about 1 1/2 from inside wall and the outside door is about 2 -21/2 inches from the wall. My doors are for a porch 72" opening, and does not need the doors to be tight fitting..
