Kohler K-8637-ST Touchless Foaming Soap Dispenser

I received one that was working fine but the 2nd one only works on the high despencer setting. they replaced it on the spot ... called Kohler directly they stand by there product ..customer service very accommodating.

Wow! I bought this and immediately fell in love! Worked great, for about 4 weeks. Then it stopped sending out foam. You could hear the motor, see the air moving but no liquid/foam. I removed the filter, cleaned it. Tried soaking it in vinegar. Nothing helped. I now use it without the filter, no foam but a trickle of liquid soap. I’m so disappointed. Bought 2 more for Christmas presents that can not be returned. I thought with the Kohler name it would be great. It is not. Save your money!

I really like the design and how it fit my bathroom countertop. However, as I tried the foam Level 1 - 3, the soap dispensed rather inconsistently. Sometimes it will dispense straightly onto my palm but sometimes it will just dispense around the outlet.

This was delivered about a week ago.I have 3 other motion sensor soap dispensers, all Simple Human, and I paid a significant but reasonable amount of $ for each of them. One in a bathroom and 2 at kitchen sink, one being used for dish soap. All dispense gel soap with no foam capability. I love using them and really appreciate their reliability and battery life.I have a small child who is used to the foam soap as that is what we have in our other bathroom and what they had a school. I noticed with the gel soap, he was not rinsing nearly enough and was using the towel to dry still-soapy hands.I know Simple Human has a foaming model but it requires refill soap cartridges. That foaming dispenser is somewhat pricey, which I could see paying, but with the soap refill cartridges, I could see the potential cost being a long term expense.I saw this Kohler model on Amazon and was impressed that it can do gel or foam, plus it was about half the price of the SH models.I have been using it on the medium foam setting for about a week, now, with a foaming liquid soap (Dial Antibacterial) product. It has been working pretty well and responds quickly to the approach of your hand. The nozel has clogged 2x but is very easy to remove, rinse, and replace- it just pops off and back on. I noticed that the foam I was getting also felt a little dry. I added a small amount of water to the reservoir and I has been smooth sailing ever since.Overall, very pleased.

The actual look of this product is nice, and the motion sensor works just fine, the issue lies in the dispensing. When you hold your hand under the sensor, you hear the sound of the electric pump, but nothing comes out. You have to give it a couple tries before any soap comes out. This product is brand new (within the last week), so there is no reason for it to be breaking down or clogging. Nevertheless, I did take off the nozzle and cleaned it. The dispenser would briefly work but using it 30 minutes later, it stops up again...

It's working well as a liquid soap dispenser. In the foam mode (with true foam refill soap), not so good - it's like it loses prime or something and takes multiple times before it finally dispenses. So, with the thinking that it will eat through a lot of battery that way, I am just using as liquid dispenser. Would be nice if they made a rechargeable one (had the Simple Human rechargeable which was great till it died but so pricey to replace it). I like the idea of being able to do foam or liquid, but execution was a different story.

Full disclosure: Used this only in the foam soap mode. Made me so mad I returned it without trying liquid soap.Pros:1. Kohler name is written in a nice script, looks expensive.Cons:1. Very slow to dispense - need to hold your hand under the nozzle for about 2 seconds before anything happens. Avoids false dispensing when cleaning under it, but come on. Who wants to wait that long?2. First half of soap dispensed is a weak foam, very watery shot followed by the second half of a reasonably thick foam. Happens every time, even if you go for a second shot of soap a few seconds after the first.3. Drips non-stop out of the nozzle. No kidding, this thing will drip 3-5 times every single time you use the dispenser, usually after about 5 minutes.Bottom Line: absolutely worthless!

I just got this soap dispenser and so far I'm very happy with it. I have it set for maximum foam and it works well with Mountain Falls Antibacterial Foaming Hand Soap, Fresh Pear, 32 Fluid Ounce. The built-in light makes it super easy to see the level of soap at a glance. The unit itself is very attractive and the handsfree design is fantastic. The top lid has a gasket so if you need to change the batteries which is located on the bottom of the unit, you could flip it upside down without having to worry about the liquid soap leaking pouring back out.Update: So it's been almost a year now and it's still working great but to get the best foaming action the batteries need to be fairly fresh. Once the battery power gets low the "pump" action gets weaker which reduces the foaming action which cause a slightly watery foam.It's April 2021 and this thing still works! Make sure to wipe the sensor and dispenser nozzle cover every so often for best performance.

Love this dispenser. I bought the white one. I love how it can handle foam or regular liquid soap. and how it is sooooo easy to adjust the dispense volume. As a bonus, I love how easy it is to turn it off. And how it lights up makes it look VERY classy.I have owned many others like the SimpleHuman ones. Which you have to guess the amount and trial and error and turning it off to replace batt is a pain.It is a more expensive but I feel it is worth it if you are to spend the money anyways,

This thing worked fine for 1.5 months. So I bought another one . Then things started going crazy. The second I bought broke down before the first one I bought. It's now dispensing soap at will. I have to remove the batteries. The first one I bought has now gone completely dead. Don't waste your money. One unit going bad well..., but both units.. Use bar soap, never fails.

I like how you can use foam or liquid soap and I have it set on the lowest and you still get plenty of soap . Just love this , now I never have to touch a mess soap container and there is no soap mess to clean up either .
