Dear Eileen, It depends on the design of your torch. With the three AAA batteries fitted, the units become a 4.5 volt power source. Well, if your torch needs 9 volts DC and is is designed to take two of these inline, then the answer is yes. Note: the battery holder (with three AAA batteries) provides a nominal 4.5 volt DC output; and is slightly smaller (in diameter) than a C-cell (which are nominally 1.5 volts output). However, most torches that take two inline C-size cylindrical batteries are designed for a 3 volt supply.
