I was nervous about using a shock collar but this one has a "safe" mode and the levels are adjustable so you can start really low. Honestly, the beep and vibration are all my dog needs 90% of the time. He's a stubborn husky mix and this has helped a ton with his recall. The remote is easy to use, the collar fits him comfortably, and it's held up in the rain. Would recommend if you use it responsibly

I have a blue healer who needs correction at times. She bites the wheels of vehicles due to her hurting and extinct. I typically only use the beep or vibrate button. It’s very effective. Charge lasts forever, literally I cannot even remember the last time I had to charge the collar or the remote. Now I’m not going to tell you she likes it, but she doesn’t seem disturbed when she has to wear it.

I have had 2 of these collars in the last 10+ years and both worked well until this last one a few months ago. The first problem was due to the rubber backing came off and I thought it would not be water proof, they sent a new collar saying it was still water proof. This problem is with the shock button. I could not get a response when I pushed the control button. I have written the company and am awaiting a reply. After reading several reviews, I see others have had this problem as well. I have not figured out the semi circle metal piece that goes under the prongs, so have not used that. I did remove the rubber tabs covering the prongs, so I'll see what happens next. She is a lovely Australian Cattle Dog, therapy and at therapy dog visiting Hospice patients bur occasionally gets a wild idea and wants to take off with me at the other end of the lead...not acceptable behavior...so I hope the company comes up with a solution or a new collar...I do recommend the collar and it the past the company has been easy to solve problems.

Update 90 days later: lowered to three stars instead of four, however this is still a decent collar, but there's a slight design flaw. The on/off switch is on the inside of the power unit so that it presses against the dog's neck and will occasionally turn off because it doesn't take much pressure to turn the switch off. Other reviewers have talked about the unit stopped working, and I'm inclined to think it's because the on/off switch was inadvertently turned off by the dog maybe playing around with another dog. It's not worked 4 different times for me and three times it was because the switch had been turned off and once because it was out of power. I can also confirm that the collar is waterproof as advertised as long as the rubber cover is over the charging port. My dog got out, went to play in the canals, was soaking wet and the collar still worked. Bought this looking for a lightweight device with reasonable distance ~ 3000 ft over flat land. This looked like it might fit the bill. It's lightweight all I need is the beep and the buzzer. I don't need the shock feature and previously I have used pet trainer brand that work great except it was really heavy My dog's only 45 lb. I can see what people might have a problem with the shock on this because you have to add sort of a u/v shaped aluminum extender to the prongs that actually touch the dog. When I looked at it, it looked like something you would put on the wall to tie the excess cord up from a blind or a rope but no it's supposed to shock the dog. It's the first time I've ever seen anything like that and it seems kind of weird. And I believe it might explain why people have problems with the shock part of this collar. So far the beep and the buzz works just fine The distance is reasonable, I'm still checking the battery life if it's bad or the distance is not true I'll come back and update my review with the three star instead of four. If you're looking for the shock feature I would stay away from this and try one that doesn't require some sort of weird shock extender device

Second one I have purchased for my dog as first one finally wore, and poor after years of using every day works great on vibration and be alone dog listens to it and has trained him to stay in the yard

Love this collar! Charging lasts a long time, remote is compact and it’s durable. It had a great safety feature so you don’t accidentally use the wrong signal. Would recommend this collar only! Thought I’d share the dog it is used on. He is such a good boy because of this collar

We haven't even had the collar two full months and the battery no longer holds a charge. This is the second one we have purchased and have had the same problem however this battery life was even shorter than the last. Would not recommend this product at all.
