My step daughter has been having a really really hard time with school lately-- especially with learning to read. She absolutely hated reading time. Especially if we are making her try to sound out the words and read the book herself. I tried many many different kinds of children's learn-to-read books, focusing on ones below her age level to try to inspire her to at least try to learn without as much frustration and throwing tantrums. Being the creative step-mom that I am, I decided to make her personalized story books using her vocabulary "core" words from her teacher. I've always been creative and full of imagination, and writing happens to be my specialty. I wrote her stories featuring her as the main character - a princess. I used glue and mod podge to stick printed out sentences and pictures to the inside paper, as well as the outside cover. I also used markers to decorate. I gave her the book at story time, and she loves it! I used up the entire package of blank books that I bought. It really worked for her. The books are very nice quality and hold up to glue and markers very well. I plan on buying more of these to make more personalized books for her, to help make learning to read painless. And, she even expressed interest in trying to make her own book! It worked amazing for what I bought it for. It is a good quality product and worth the price.

My kids have been into making their own comic books so I had to get them these blank books and I will tell you now they are totally into it.. when I get a full book done I'll take some pictures

I bought these last Christmas for a set of four young siblings who love to write and design their own books. They absolutely loved them and requested another set this Christmas. There are some sets out there where you design *one* book and then send in your pages and they send you back a professionally printed and bound book, but I think you get more bang for your buck with these sets of 6. The covers and inside covers can be drawn/colored on, and you can buy the books in 6 x 8 or 8.5 x 11 sizes. Highly recommend!*Edit: I noticed several 1-star reviews that said they received landscape oriented books by mistake. Just wanted to share that I ordered four sets of these and all four arrived with the correct portrait orientation.

My kids used these blank books to make Christmas keepsakes for several relatives. Perfect for creating a personalized “ABC”-themed story (“A is for Apple, B is for bear, etc.), since the book has 14 pages. They used markers on the covers and spine, but colored with pencils, crayons, and gel pens on the pages. I initially wished I could buy these separately, but I'm glad now they were sold as a 6-pack: each of the kids took 2 books and “practiced” their layout in one before committing to finishing with the extra book.

I remember a teacher getting these back when I was in early middle School. I feel in love with writing then. Bought these for my children as well as a neighbor who told me she'd love to be an author. They are very well made. A great gift for a cold to bring their imagination to life. Can use crayons, pencil, pen, markers (even sharpies), to write and illustrate on each page. The price for these books are fantastic and I will buy them again when needed.

For Christmas Presents, I ordered a pack of these and had my kids fill the pages with things they love about their Dad, Grandparents, Cousins, etc.The pages are thick so markers won’t bleed through. I’m not sure about sharpies but I know washable markers won’t and also paint pens did not.My son also used glue and wooden popsicle sticks and none of that bled through either.The only downside for me is that i wish one side of the page had a few lines where kids could write. My son is 7 so if he writes without any lines to guide him, it can get pretty out of control :)

My daughter needed a blank book without lines for a 1st grade project of writing her own book. This was the only one available in a six pack, however it worked out since we used one as a practice book and another for the real book. I do still have 4 more blank books left. I do wish there were smaller packs available to purchase. I couldn't find any at the time of purchase.The quality is good and the pages are thick and ink does not seep through to the other side. My daughter even used markers to make pictures in her book.

Great for that story telling artists. My granddaughter loves it. And took one she wrote a story on and her teacher bought some for the hole class and they all created their own story and was a great learning tool about how books are made. The 2nd graders loved learning and creating their own book
