A tough, quick and fun truck for a great price.
The media could not be loaded. First impressions:Packaging is very nicely done where even having some damage to the outer shell probably wouldn’t affect the truck itself. After a couple of quick snips of zip ties, the truck is free along with the transmitter and paperwork. The truck itself gives a very nice impression. It looks like a hobby grade vehicle and not something that you’d buy from Target. I was happy to see a normal 9g servo up front and everything is ready to run. Drop a couple of batteries in the transmitter, charge up the battery in the truck and away you go.Going over the truck, I removed the body clips and shell and was happy to see a well designed suspension, steering linkage, and that the general layout of the components is well thought out. It looks completely serviceable and upgradable. After I went over the multi-language manual, I found the parts list and some basic exploded diagrams which gives someone with a little more knowledge the information they need to do more extensive rebuilds. Beginners might have to think about it a little more, but the information is there. One concern is the availability of parts, but after contacting BBM Hobby, they said they will stock the most likely to break parts on the Amazon site. The radio is a combination ESC and Rx in one. The battery is charged through the balance port on a USB charger. You’ll need a USB port either on a computer or phone charger, but this also means you can charge it in your truck at a park if you’re willing to wait the 1.5-2 hour charging time. I’d highly recommend buying a couple more batteries. The battery is a 2S lithium 700mah with a JST connector. You can find high capacity batteries which will give you longer run times online. I’m probably going to pick up something around 800maH or better.I just took it out for the first time and I had a blast with it. The truck went over the grass easily and handles rougher terrain without breaking a sweat. I even took it over a bit of a gravel pile that I had and the gearing made easy work of it. At first the speed of the truck is what I had expected of this kind of build, but I discovered an all important switch at the top of the transmitter labeled ‘Slow/Normal’. I flipped that switch from Slow to Normal and I had a whole new beast on my hands. The truck can move (Yah, I missed that on the manual)! The steering is responsive and the truck handles well on flat ground. I had to flip it a couple of times when I was racing around my backyard over uneven terrain, but I do believe that better shocks will improve the stability quite a bit.As for durability, for the most part, I see this as a solid rig that can withstand a LOT! The quality of its parts seems good and it’s taken a few tumbles already without any adverse affects. I haven’t “sent it” by any means yet but I’m looking for some nearby tracks since I’m new to this particular neighborhood. In the meantime, I’m letting it roll off my stairs and having fun letting my dogs chase it around. My overall impression is that this is a great starter truck for someone who doesn’t want a toy grade truck, but also doesn’t want to make the investment into a hobby grade truck. I give it 5 starts to be honest for the truck itself, but the lack of ALL the parts being available is something I’m hopeful the vendor will increase to benefit the popularity of this truck. You’ll definitely want to get more batteries so you’re spending more time racing rather than charging. I’d also recommend buying a good charger that works in the field as well as at home. Being able to maintain your batteries will extend the life of them greatly and a good charger can help.A few upgrades I’ll look into will be a brushless motor and ESC (I’ll have to replace the servo and reciever as well) metal drive shafts, and oil filled shocks. The latter two are available from the manufacturer. Here are some current links to the upgrades I mentioned;Metal drive shafts;https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X6FR8MW?ref=myi_title_dpOil filled shockshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X5L2NP1?ref=myi_title_dpA tough, durable and fun truck for a great price.

Excellent for the price.
I have been involved with the RC hobby since I was a young boy (over 35yrs), so I have seen a lot of changes through the years, and have learned a lot about land vehicles, planes, helicopters and quad copters/drones. For the price of this truck, I have not ever seen or used an RC vehicle that was this fun, and of decent quality. These days, it's easy to spend over $100 and end up with crap ( which i have done a couple times). This Haiboxing model 18859 truck is great. I got this for my 5yr old son who has crashed, smashed, and bashed it at high speeds many times, and nothing has broken on it yet. This truck is very fast in normal speed mode, and truly is good quality. Being that it is 4 wheel drive, it burns through our yard on grass with ease, faster and more easily than other trucks my son has that are 3 times its size. The cons....the li-po batteries that came with this do still work, but the charger that came with this does not balance the cells well, so they have started to lose their run time. So the charger is not very good, I use my own balance charger, and I will be buying replacement batteries of a little bit better quality. The shocks that came stock worked fine at first, but after a few months of use they broke down and started to bind up. I was able to find upgraded replacement shocks which are better quality, but they were $20 for the set of 4. So the price of that is steep considering the whole truck and remote with 2 batteries was under $120. The motor in the truck I got (about a year ago in Jan 2022) was not brushless, however it works very well and has plenty of torque. I would have preferred brushless, but that wasn't an option with this model at the time, and honestly this truck does just fine with the brushed motor. It looks like now the newer version comes with brushless.Overall I really can't complain with the two cons I have listed. The amount of use and abuse this has taken at my home has absolutely qualified this truck as a great value, especially for someone like me that wanted this for my son who is new to the hobby. I wanted something cheaper ( as opposed to some rc trucks that are $400-$800), but not junk. And that's exactly what I got with this, it is a great truck for what I paid and I definately recommend it for someone starting out, or who just wants something better than the average big box store rc truck ( like WalMart). My relatives have spent $80+ for trucks that are absolute garbage compared to this Haiboxing model, and my sons truck would drag these across the yard if tied together in a "pull off" fashion. If you are looking for something decent that won't break the bank, is fast, 4 wheel drive, 2.4ghz remote, 2 batteries, and some replacement parts available on the website....this will work for you.
