Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty! No joke... as far as I'm concerned my back pain is essentially cured. It took me 3 attempts to get the exercise right . You must follow the directions exactly and rest 24 hrs between attempts. Immediately after the 3rd attempt , I was able to bend down without my knees buckling, and get up from a squatting position with strength in my legs.No pain in the morning. But I do have some pain if I sit in one position for awhile--can deal with that.Physical tx and chiropractic have been helpful but only remedial. This one exercise in the book cured me. Follow directions about diet and water intake.I'm now telling all my friends. Purchase any of author's books as well. Best Rx for staying healthy in case we get national health insurance when we will not have access to anything.This is an update(November 10,2008). I don't even think of my back anymore.I can sit in any position for any length of time. I still drink alot water but stopped all exercises because I have no pain. If the pain returns I will resume the exercises. This book is the best of all self-help medical books on the market!. A true miracle. Another update(March 17,2009). We had a bad winter and was able to shovel snow without any pain whatsoever. Of course, I did use proper posture. Still no back pain of any sort and that includes from any posture for prolonged time period, Also I can walk as much as I want.Hello again.It is November 21,2009). This past summer, I began getting 'twinges' in my back. No pain mind you, just a twinge or two. I figured my disc was starting to bulge again.So to play it safe, I did the exercise just once and the twinge vanished immediately after. Still no pain or twinge as of today.I am watching my diet and am drinking just water (except one cup of coffee in the morning) As I said in the beginning of this review, I am cured. Wouldn't you know it, national health care in probably going to crush us but water to the rescue (until that also is taxed along with botox...not funny!)Hello again and good-bye after this last update. Today is Dec 14,2009. Here in Michigan it has snowed and iced x3 so far and all in the past 7 days. The snow was fluffy one day and slushy and heavy the other, the third was 1/4 inch of melting ice and heavy. I was able to do my snow shoveling by hand without any pain.I have not had any twinges since this past summer. Let me repeat. My back pain is cured because my disc(s) are back in place using this simple exercise. Try it, you'll like it. Au revoir mes amisOoops... spoke too soon. My lower back is still cured, though!!Today is March 25, 2011...No misprint- 2011- and still no back pain or bulging discs.... By anyone's definition, I am still cured. Yippee Kiyyea!!Addendum- May 14,2011--about one month ago I used this technique x3, spaced 3-4 days apart on my wife's aching back. She still had some lingering but mild pain after the third procedure so I did not do anymore. 2 days ago I asked her how her back was, since she never said anything more about it. She said she has been pain-free for some time now. Nice!!

Useful information, but could use a little polish
As a long time fan of the author's other book Your Body's Many Cries for Water , and as one who suffers with chronic lower back pain, I had been wanting to read this book for a while. Here are my thoughts:PROS:- Provides a basic understanding of water's importance to the body and how lower back pain correlates to, and may be caused by, dehydration. While some of the information was repeated from the author's other book, Your Body's Many Cries for Water , there was enough new information that I was not disappointed.- Provides a basic stretching therapy to alleviate lower back pain with exercises clearly demonstrated in photographs. This is especially useful for those who are not suited to yoga but want similar benefits for back pain relief.- Low Price. You could potentially spend thousands of dollars with a doctor due to back problems, yet not gain as much benefit as you may potentially from this book.- Bibliography included.CONS:- The information is not well-suited for laymen, in my opinion.- The author's wording is sometimes cumbersome making for difficult reading in parts.- Poorly organized, disjointed in parts.- No index!- Some of the drawings and diagrams could be improved or sharpened.- Only two testimonial letters, compared to his other book which has many.Overall, I would recommend this book to someone who is suffering from low back pain.

hope health and healing
Dr. Batman is my hero..... I went to the doc to get some pain meds and she sent me to the hospital to get an MRI and they wanted to operate but the neurologist said he would see me the next day . He gave me three choices,surgery,cortizol shots,or 18 months to 24 months to recover from 3 bulging and one ruptured disc #5. After a month in a chair laying on one side---- at the library I found the Body's many cries for water....gave me some HOPE , which I had lost. The first day...my back was improving...my emotions were improving and I felt better. Then I ordered some of his books online and they are GREAT! The back book is very helpful to understand what I am up against. The cancer book was very encouraging. Cancer can bring fear to anyone who doesn't understand there are some safe treatments available.And of course ,I had to buy the bodies many cries for water book. I will be ordering some more books soon and recommending them to friends , neighbors and family members.....Keep your mind open and receive the answers to your questions ,and receive hope , help, and healing. Haven't used pain meds for 30 days...just salt and water.

Worth the Read
I would definately buy and read this book again. Although the information is simple, he does a great job of explaining how your spine works when it comes to hydration. Gave me some good visuals for helping my spine, I have DDD. I have RA, also, and water does seem to be helping. Again his explanation gave me a good understanding as to what's going on with my finger joints, so I drink more water, and I get better. It's so simple one might pass on the book or dismiss the info--that would be a mistake.

Get Rid Of Your Lower Back Pains!
I now have three of Dr. B's books! Before visiting a doctor, read this book. Explanations are in simple English. There are many drawings of your spinal column plus photos of simple exercises to correct the alignment of you spinal column.The other books which is a must for you and your family to stay healthy are "Your body's many cries for WATER" and"You are not sick, You are thirsty" you will be amazed to find that our medical professionals are not aware of this simple fact. We need adequate amount of WATER!!

Excellent Self-Help Book on Back Pain
Truly an excellent book on the causes of back pain and how to diminish the pain through proper hydration and exercises. Very informative and easy to read. Have tried the exercises and they work! Illustrations in the book are great! Highly recommend this book.

Average book
The book arrived quickly, which is a merit of Amazon.The book has a clear message: Drink water and do your exercises. And this message is repeated again and again. It is very valuable, but there is no need for a book just for this.
