Mockmill 100 - Great for homemade nasal snuff making
I bought the Mockmill 100 to make homemade nasal snuff tobacco with. I begin with whole leaf tobacco and process down into a fine tobacco flour. Several steps to get there, but I was using a coffee bean grinder to get the tobacco into a fine flour. This was a pain, required a lot of shaking, required several passes through a #80 mesh lab strainer with 0.2mm screen, then back through the grinder again with the tailings and I could only do small batches because of the limited capacity of the coffee bean grinder. The Mockmill 100 processes a much larger capacity, is much easier to make into the fine flour that I need and mills the tobacco down into a fine enough flour that it passes through the #80 mesh lab strainer with ease. I was very impressed with the Mockmill 100. It was easy to clean afterwards by just putting some dry rice through the machine. The Mockmill 100 is super easy to take apart and put back together for an even better cleaning. I found that for an even better cleaning, I used a can of compressed air on the insides and on the grinding stones and it was as good as new. It was actually really fun to use too. Homemade nasal snuff tobacco is kind of a hobby for me and this will make it much easier and much more fun to make. There are plenty of videos on Youtube on how to process grains for those of you who are buying this for making foods with. It also has a very small footprint, so it doesn't take up much room. I kept the original box for storage when I'm not using it since it will only be used occasionally. The Mockmill 100 is very cleverly designed and is well worth the money for me.

Superb Product!!!
After doing ALOT of online research, I decided to purchase the Mockmill 100 for my small family (3 people). Found an especially helpful online video review of grain mills that was done by Annette Reeder. So glad I purchased this machine. It grinds sprouted wheat berries very quickly and with minimal racket. I also own a Kitchen Maid grinding attachment, which is super slow, that is, it would take several hours to grind enough wheat berries to make a batch of bread. The noise level of the Kitchen Maid grinder required hearing protection to make it tolerable. I was able to grind 3 cups of flour with the Mockmill in under 5 minutes. The Mockmill was carefully and thoughtfully packaged, arriving in perfect condition. The instructions were also very clear and well written. It has a large hopper which is easy to load with berries. Very simple to operate -choose the fineness level of flour you desire, and press the power button. The flour was slightly warm when it came out of the spout, but definitely grinds fairly cool so that it doesn't degrade the nutritional value of the flour with high heat. Also a very important point -it creates almost no flour dust!!! No extra kitchen cleaning required! The footprint is no bigger than a full-size blender. I would feel very confident recommending this to friends or family.

Cooler milling temp = Nutritious flour
After considerable research this bacame our home milling choice. We like it so far. Preserves nutrition of grains with cooler milling temp than common high rpm impact mills. Home milling makes sense when you realize that ground whole grains have poor shelf life, but unground grains store for extended periods if stored properly. Grind as needed/ use flour immediately, before germ oils etc have a chance to go rancid. Healthy. Plus did you know commercial flour is likely tainted with glyphosate? In some areas it's an advantage to the farmer to spray Roundup pre-harvest to ripen crop evenly, its legal and they do it. Beautiful golden wheat fields sprayed with unnecessary chemicals shortly before harvesting for food. Buy organic to avoid this nonsense. Just don't expect your flour to be as low in price as commercial flour, since generally the price per pound is higher for quality wheat than for inferior supermarket flour. From a motor technician's point of view mockmill 100 utilizes a brushless 4-pole perma-split capacitor type ball bearing induction motor (capable of max 1800 rpm no-load on 60hz 120v power). This type of motor is known for long life as there are no major wear parts and minimal moving parts. Also at 360 watts its also super energy efficient. Motor evidently direct drives lower millstone while upper stone is stationary except for coarseness setting via lever, plus can be removed to clean. Mockmills allow wide adjustment for coarse to fine flour. Five stars for German Quality. 6 yr warranty. Will update if future disappointment arises.Update 4-20-19 I am not affiliated with mockmill and i thought the first while the stones may have added some grits into the flour till broken in, if that is a concern u may want to discard the first several lbs milled.

An indispensable piece of equipment.
I received my Mockmill 100 yesterday. I ground my first batch of whole grain flour (Einkorn as it happened) this morning and am moving towards the final rise before the baking. The mill arrived undamaged and did its' job perfectly. It is much quieter than I might have expected and faster too. I bake bread perhaps twice a week and now with this milling capability I feel that I have greater control over the quality of the ingredients I will use. I am very pleased with the purchase. This is an update. I have used the grain mill for four bread bakes and I become more enthusiastic about it each time. In itself there is absolutely no fuss. It is almost invisible in a sense. It does it's job. Switch it on and add grain to the funnel on top. Flour comes out the chute in short order. It is in the handling of that flour, the handling of the dough, and the resulting bread that the improvement becomes apparent. Far beyond my expectations. I urge anyone who bakes bread in particular and might be wondering about spending the money..... Do it. You won't regret it.
