A Handbook of Early Arabic Kufic Script: Reading, Writing, Calligraphy, Typography, Monograms Hardcover – January 17, 2017

This book is tremendous. The author explains and illustrates each stroke of each letter. He gives the nuanced mechanics of forming each stroke, down to the pen rotation. I do not think there is any other book about the Kufic script--even in Arabic--that is this clear and detailed. In fact, the are few books about __any__ script that are as useful as this one.Additionally, this book has a fascinating gallery of historical examples of Kufic script.

Very very low quality binding and print , I thought I bought the hardcover version, but when Amazon advertised to buy another book by the same author for what thought was discount it didn’t mention that I was for this cheap photocopy bootleg softcover edition. I believe that hardcover will also be a huge disappointment for however buys it.
