GPS Navigation for Car, Latest 2022 Map 7-Inch HD Touch Screen 256-8GB Navigation System, with Voice Guidance and Speed ​​Warning, Lifetime Free Map Updates

I bought this item 2 months ago ahead of time of a road trip I had planned. This navigation system was literally useless, it got us lost, it literally had us pass our location, it would tell me to "Turn left" and there's no left turn available. I charged it all night and I could use it for 2 hours and it would say the battery needs charging. I would type in ANY address and it would No Results Found, and I even tested it with random businesses but it just could not find these locations. I had to use Google Maps on my phone the entire time, which defeats the entire purpose.

Well, its what you think. Its cheap. It almost works like a real GPS. Major flaws:1. At random, unexpectedly throws error message while navigating, and locks up. Needs reboot after that.2. If you turn it on while driving, it will loose its mind and never get your actual location. Need to wait still for it to get satellites before driving.3. Backlighting is not auto adjusting for dusk or night driving. In gps mode backlight slider does nothing. Again you need to turn gps off, go to external menu and manual adjust it, then enter back into gps and start over your route.4. Lock nuts become loose and do not hold this unit in place, just from driving vibrations.5. Search does not find major retailers by name. It finds addresses but nothing else, you have to find things manually on the map.6. If you use your Google Maps on your phone and you like it, this is a serious step down.Why do if not return it? I need it for when my phone has no reception while camping in the mountains. In this case better than nothing.

I had purchased this unit to replace my Garmin that had died. My sense of directions stinks so I really rely on my GPS. I received this unit just before my trip to PA from SC. this unit has a few more bells and whistles than my old unit, so there was a slight learning curve. there were two things I really liked about this unit. first it gives you a voice notification when you are approaching a traffic camera, and second when I hit a huge traffic jam in VA, it automatically took me off the interstate, at first I was a little concerned because I was going through some very rural areas. I decided to just relax and follow the instructions I was being given. I'm so happy I did, this unit not only got me out of a bad interstate traffic jam, but, it got me to my destination around the same amount of time it would have taken me without traffic on I-95. same thing happened when I was coming home to SC. the unit had to reroute me off the interstate midway through NC, and got me home in great time. but the thing I'm really impressed with is this companies customer service. about a month ago, I began to receive an error message on my unit. after a few emails back and forth, trying to fix the error message and new error messages popping up, the company sent me a new unit. I was well outside of my return window, so I'm very thankful and appreciative for the great customer service I received.

They said Lifetime maps... Can't find out how to update them.

At first I had trouble entering a destination and I was able try different thing and finally figured out how to enter an address. When entering a destination you must make sure the top line says United States only. This will let you enter a city and street address. It has some other minor issues that I have not figured as of yet and that is why I gave it only 4 stars, I used it on my return trip from Pennsylavania to California and it worked very well, except for detours but that was not the fault of the unit. I really liked that at the top of the screen it showed which lane you need to be in to make the proper exit
