Very smooth, neon colors
These all draw really smoothly! they don't go over certain multi-media stuff as well as I'd like but they're smooth and pretty and I adore the colors.

Sakura gel pens really are 'ice cream smooth', have rich, gorgeous colors
Until I tried these gel pens I actually did NOT like gel pens at all (had several friends pushing me to try gel pens so I bought these). All of the other kinds of gel pens I tried did an extremely poor job of coloring, leaving very visible lines, ink not flowing well, drying out, not working at all, ink tube bursting, running out very quickly. Sakura gel pens (I have since purchased other colors/types of sakura gel pens ex: metallic and 'stardust' aka glitter) flow very smoothly (as they say 'ice cream smooth' and I would definitely agree with them), dries quickly. The colors are exceptional, This 'moonlight' set is colors based on the 'day of the dead' Mexican holiday, several of the colors are flourescent, several light up amazingly in black light, they all write very well on even black paper (though the appearance of the colors are different on black and on white or light paper). All of the sakura gel pens I have used also can cover over other ink so if you make a mistake you can go back over it with the correct color (or the white pens they have if you accidentally colored into a white area) and it will do an amazing job of covering over the other color.

Pretty gel pens for adults!
These are great! I’ve been using them on black paper and they’re working wonderfully. I would say they’re for adults though- I could see kids getting frustrated with them. They like to be used a certain way and then they’re the best gel pens you’ve ever used- don’t press too hard, and they like to go in one direction, not back and forth. For the kind of art I’m doing, those requirements aren’t a problem at all and I’ve been loving how vibrant they are!

Great colors on dark paper!
Tested on AstroBrights Cards stock - Eclipse Black paper. Pens worked amazingly well! I made up the color names, so don't quote them (lol). But you can get an idea of the colors. As heavy as this paper is, these pens wrote nicely. So far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

Wonderful Pens For Writing and Lines
I have used gelly roll pens for years for drawing landscapes and abstracts on black paper. Sakura makes one of the highest quality gel pen out there and these are no exception. I already had the bolder tip Moonlight pens so was eager to try them when I saw they were available in the finer tip. Wow! The colors on black paper are breathtaking - they really pop out. Line quality is exceptional - you can easily get nice even lines with a bit of practice. They do have one problem. While great for lines, they do sometimes show an uneven quality when filling in such things as floral petals in landscapes or squares in abstracts. However, this seems to be the nature of the beast for gel pens in general and fine tipped gel pens in particular - often if you carefully reapply the pigment you can eliminate this problem. Use a very light hand for this so you don't dig streaks into your work. The ink dries fairly quickly, though not as quickly as the metallic pens. I've had no problem with smearing however. If these are like their bolder tipped cousins, it should be possible to blend colors although I haven't tried this yet.

My search for the best Gel Ink Pen has ended, Sakura is IT!
This is the first time I've been inspired enough by a product to write a review. I've been in search for the best gel ink pen for weeks and have purchased several packs of the cheaper sets, but none peform as well as the Sakura Gelly Rolls. Here are the things I was looking for in a gel pen: 1. Color Saturation 2. Color Brightness 3. Consistency of flow of ink. 4. Metallics and Neon colors that will show when used on black paper. While other less expensive sets of gel pens had reviews that made claims their pens met my criteria, none have the quality in all 4 categories that the Sakura Gelly Roll pens have.Colored ink of any sort has to have some amount of pigma to create an opaque coverage. The more pigma an ink has, the more opaque it will be. With less expensive sets, there is less pigma in the ink. The problem I had with all of them was the lack of smooth coverage, especially on black paper, with metallics and other color schemes that should have shown brightly on black paper, and claimed that they would. They did not. I would have to draw over the same line repeatedly to get the saturation necessary to be visible on a black surface. If you are coloring, this might not be an issue, but I use my pens to draw line patterns and write on colored paper. The need to repeatedly draw over the same line just to get the ink to show ruins the picture. That's what leaves visible scratch marks on the surface of the area covered in ink. With Sakura Gelly Rolls, one pass with the pen leaves an amazingly brilliant stroke of color on your paper, including black card stock. There was no need to add layers, which in the process eats up your ink, to get opaque coverage on paper. I bought the Moonlight set, and both sets of Metallics, all of them are gorgeous colors that stand out on the surface of the paper. The ink does not dry and become a faded version of the initial stroke, which happens with the cheaper brands due to the lack of pigment and results in the need to go over and over a line just to get it to show, which then in returns leaves scratchy marks on the surface of the ink.Don't waste your money on the cheap sets if you want to create art with your Gelly Roll pens. They are well worth the cost. I will never buy a different brand of gel ink pens. Sakura Gelly Rolls are the absolute best on the market.

Très bons stylos
Parfait.
