Game changer
We had a manual low tech doggie door but the raccoons had started coming inside and helping themselves to the dog food. So we upgraded to this fancy schmancy blue tooth enabled doogie door. The installation was not easy. You need to put some screws in and then engage locks on the door with these screws so getting the correct height is important. The door is amazing. I would have preferred to attach the doggie sensor to my existing collar. That would be an improvement. But you can set the times when dog can come in and go out. There’s a lot of flexibility in setting the times and days. The door makes a futuristic sound when it glides open shut - kind of like the sound when people beam onto the ship in Star Trek. The door is well constructed. You can set the sensitivity for entering separate from exiting - meaning how close the dog has to be to the door before the door opens. This is nice. The opening is rather small so be sure to check the measurements before ordering. We have a small dog so it works.Overall very happy

Just okay
The tags are bulky and very picky about how they're positioned on the dog. I have to keep them on very tight so they don't get shifted out of position or they won't work at all. (I believe they're ultrasonic, and they need to be aimed at the sensor.) Even when they are positioned correctly, though, sometimes it won't trigger. If I take the tag off and put it right by the sensor, it will trigger, but dogs aren't able to do that. It doesn't matter how I adjust the "range" it simply fails to detect it, though choosing a shorter range seems to somehow work better than a longer range. (20lb dog, so I can't imagine how awful it would be for a larger dog, since the sensor is near the floor.)I don't like that there's no differentiating between tags. I'd like to be able to set different timers for different dogs, but the tags are all the same. That also means any dog with any tag can enter, but I'm not really worried about that. There's also no warning of a low battery. You have to press the button on the collar and remember that if the light just flickers on and doesn't stay on, then it's low.

Dog door works, App does not
I bought one of those dog doors that they had to push through. Dog didn’t want to do it. So I ordered this one instead that opens and closes. The door works great. My dog and cat go in and out all day. I purposely bought this one with Wi-Fi and app so I could see history and get notifications. That does not work. I email the support desk every day and they tell me to hard reset and install the door again. Doesn’t work at all. Even thought I check and the door is connected to Wi-Fi with all bars the app doesn’t recognize it so I can’t see history or get notifications. Also I put this on a door and then had to pay $110 for batteries. With the battery and no AC power the door connects to Wi-Fi for 5 minutes then you never get Wi-Fi again. So my handyman had to install an outlet next to the door so it could be plugged in all the time. I’m writing this review so all potential buyers know actually what the current status is. Hope they fix their app.
