Works great, extend the life of your old PC.
I know this is crazy but I'm actually using this card for gaming. I know, shocking right! This is effectively a cheap upgrade to an old computer to play current-ish games. My main games are Fallout 4, Witcher 3 and Elite Dangerous. It runs all games on Ultra and it looks really good. Now, as to the computer. I wish I had $1000 to lay down on a high end gaming computer but I don't. So my really old Lenovo Thinkstation E20 is what's running the card. I upgraded the PSU to 500W some time ago and that's what this card is looking for. The PSU only has 6 pin connectors not 8 that the cards has but I stuck the 6 pin into the 8 pin card socket and it runs fine. The motherboard is only PCIX2 and the card (being modern) is PCIX3. I know that I'm taking performance hits all over the place but it works great. The motherboard is old and it's running a second hand Xeon X3470 (got off eBay) with 12GB of generic memory. So nothing is overclocked or tweaked and running Fallout 4 on ultra has the CPU at about 52% and the GPU at about 48%. The bottom line this Diamond card is the most important upgrade you can make to your PC if you want to game (Elite Dangerous looks magnificent). Diamond provide the drivers but I downloaded them from AMD anyway. It is 100% reliable and I expect it to work for as long as I need it to. A solid card and highly recommended. The trick to longevity in your hardware? Don't screw with it. Run it stock, and never overclock.
