British - Cavendish and Harvey Sour Lemon Drops 200g

I ordered this brand specifically because I saw that it was made with real fruit juice and dusted with sugar, the kind of thing my parents may have had when they were young. It costs more than candy made from HFCS and artificial flavoring but quality is more important to me than price at this point in my life. I like the flavor. It’s the perfect amount of tartness for me.

These little gems remind me of long lasting lemon drops from childhood.. the flavor is CONTINUOUS as it melts & has real lemon - not a fake sweet/sour cheap quality taste.

This is the type of candy that you rest on the tongue and let dissolve over time. Delicious. Excellent lemon flavor. Sour? Perhaps somewhat. But not really.

The Cavendish and Harvey Sour Lemon Drops are ‘almost’ sour enough. I like to peel lemons as though they were an orange and eat the slices. These lemon drops are not quite sour enough. But they are not totally disappointing. I was quite surprised that when they arrived and I opened the can all of the drops were stuck together like a blob of dried cement (or concrete). When I want a treat I have to take a butter knife and sort of stab at the conglomeration of candy until some of them become detached from the pile. (See the attached photo). I actually would rate these as 3 1/2 stars.

I love the tartness of these drops. I can't only have one.

Not sour in the least as label clearly states. Just plain lemon drops. They are good lemon drops, but not sour.
