Casual Home 18" Director's Chair Natural Frame with Black Canvas

I was a little worried with the negative reviews that this chair had to order it, but I did order it and I'm glad I did. I needed a new desk chair, and with a college student budget this fit the bill. I got the chair in solid black fabric and frame and it is great. The only minor issues is that a portion of the wood does have slight damage, but the place that is damaged is on the under side of the hing on the arm rests. So when the chair put together with the fabrics on you don't see it, but before it was assembled I could see it. Since its not visible that's why I still gave it 5 stars. Also the little cushions on this chairs feet are great, I really appreciate they installed anti scratch feet! They are thick and screwed in they aren't those little stick on felt pads!I do also have a bar stool height Pier One directors chair, and I would say this is very comparable of the same quality. the only difference is the Pier One chair has some more details to it but I would say they are the same sturdiness.

These chairs are in my art studio. I like them because they fold away when not needed and are comfortable and attractive.

I bought this chair for my business and it's great, easy to use and light weight to travel with. Im short and it's a great height for me. I left off the bottom foot pedestal because I travel with the chair and it just easier. you can go wrong with it!

I really like the design of this product. It was the best-looking chair no doubt, especially with the hunter green accent!I would buy it again, but I will say that the only pushback I have was with the instructions or simple things on putting it together. Each thing had a specific thing that fixed it, but before I figured that out, it was frustrating me.The first issue was when I was inserting the seat cloth, it kept getting stuck on the wood inside the grooves, because there would be sharp edges inside the grooves that would get caught on the cloth. If the cloth was covered in a thin plastic, it would make it a lot easier. The trick was on this one, if it gets stuck, lift it and pull forward, and that seemed to work. It took me about 3 extra minutes to get it to got the last inch haha. Not a huge issue now that it is put together.The other issue I had was pushing the metal connectors down. You have to push them down so they are flat according to the instructions, but it doesn't say in the instructions a specific way on how to do this. Since they are thin and metal and close together tightly, I figured that pushing them down with my hands was not a good idea as to avoid cutting my hands. So the first thing I tried was using a hammer and tapping them down to see if that worked. That did not work, so then I tried using my hands against my better judgment. Luckily, I did not cut myself, but I used all the force I had to try to push them down, but I still couldn't. I was literally shaking and my face turning red with how hard I was trying to push them down with my hands. But still nothing.So I stood up, took a breath, and then it finally dawned on me to stomp on them to push them down! This is a trick my Dad taught me when changing a car tire and you need to loosen the lug nut off the wheel. You stand on it and jump up and down if you have to to loosen the lug, and that is how you do it if you cannot move it with your hands! Doesn't sound super safe, I know, but you're only a foot or less off the ground, so best way I know haha.Anyway, that was the key. It finally worked when I stood up to the chair, put my foot on the metal bars, and pushed them down with my leg. Like all humans, we have a lot more strength and muscle in our legs than in our hands! So, after finally doing that I was able to push the metal bars straight and install the foot rest, and now I'm happy!So I just wanted to post this review, so that if anyone buys this, they will save 5-10 minutes of frustration trying to figure out how to put this together. It wasn't many steps, but just little things like saying use your foot to press the bars down instead of press the bars down goes a long way, and hopefully the company can update the instructions.Thanks for the product! This is just a perfect chair for me, very comfy, quite compact and easy to assemble. The material is good and sturdy, love it!

Lacks quality, my first chair cracked and broke in a day. Replaced it and this one is holding up better. But the fabric does stretch out and sag over time. It's a chair you have to sit on very delicately. Using as a bathroom makeup chair. Perfect height for my counter.

The description of this chair is exactly what it delivers. Works perfect in my office.

Some assembly is required, namely sliding the edges of the fabric seat into the grooves in the frame. It took less than a minute to put together, and included instructions if you need them.It has some nice touches: Sturdy brass-ish hardware, non-marking feet to protect the floor, smooth even finish, relatively lightweight wood. The seat is 18" from the floor, and gives you a 17" wide by 13" deep sitting area. The outside dimensions of the chair are 22" wide x 16" deep x 34" tall at the highest part of the back. Armrests are about 25" off the floor, aka 7" up from the seat.When all folded up, it measures 8.5" wide by 16" deep by 26" high.The only flimsiness I've noticed is that the wooden pieces supporting the back bend inward slightly when I lean back against the backrest, which is to be expected of any director-style chair. I weigh 125lbs and it doesn't move at all when I sit down on it. I imagine, though, that the wooden bars at the base of each armrest might not be comfortable for someone who takes up more than 17" of horizontal space when sitting. The seat looks really wide because of how the chair is proportioned, but actually I have less than 1" of room either side of me when sitting in it and I'm not exactly a large person.The points which I'd expect to wear out first are the seams of the seat and back (they're sewn with unusually long stitches and little reinforcement) and the arm rests (there's a tiny gap visible where each wooden piece fits into the others and I'm not sure how well they're glued).

Bought in August, didn't use until October. In December one of the pieces that holds the seat fabric cracked front to back. I am well under the weight limit and can only attribute this to the fact it cracked with the grain. Too bad it can't be returned.

It’s a great home office alternative chair! I live in a condo and how we built our space is my office is under the bed (the bed elevates the ceiling so that the bottom can be utilized). I needed a chair that is foldable as the bed is 18inches off the ground. It saves space and convenient!!Director as an occupation? No. But this one makes me feel like one :)Fast shipping - came the next day (thought it would arrive on Friday). What a Tuesday treat!
