Unfolds the questions about parenting you didnât even know existed. MUST MUST READ!!
It has been a journey in itself reading Unparenting. From the moment you are on it you can tell that the anticipation of what is going to come, is real. That left me with no choice but to keep on reading, and then came some moments of halts where I had to pause and reflect. The entire content of your book is really thought through and easy to read and instantly connects with the reader. While nearing the end it felt like âno! Câmon its not over yet!â and I hope we get to see another book with a different experiential journey of a lady who is not just a mother to her son, but is also a raw human, who holds a ocean of feelings and is generous to pen down her heart out.!A highly recommended journey (read book) to take if you are willing to give it and absorb.

Book of Love in a Dark Split-splitting World
This is definitely a different kind of parenting book that dribbles elegantly through dont-talk-about and is-that-so issues. And yes, it is also a memoir replete with richly-told stories that brings the author's experiences alive for you.To me it is something more. It is essentially a book of many compassionate moments-- of not only mothering-fathering your child but also nurturing others in the ecology. It is a book that documents the struggles, the surprises, the failings, the learnings, and the discoveries of a human trying to keep love alive in a dark vengeful split-splitting breaking world. For me, this has become a book of love.Learning-seeking to respond to this moment with more care, more thought and more awareness of the cascading consequences for everyone.Whether it is a Neelu or the bully at school or even her Ex. In the most contentious of circumstances like when her son suffers the ideological fallouts of our land, in the most broken of moments when a new trying-to-breastfeed mother crying through her stitches notices-experiences the confusion-reaction of the new father. And in that, it ceases to be a what-to-do book and instead, unconsciously invites readers to pay wide attention, inside-out.Anyone can sit with any chapter from this book and carry home-to-heart something precious that is going missing in our worlds.

An unconventional parenting
Reema Ahmad breaks the generational old conventional South Asian parenting methods through her own experiences as a mother through this book. A good & experimental perspective on dealing with these little humans as âjust humansâ and de-glorifying the parental authority over day-to-day mundane which we have emotionally inherited from our own parents and unintentionally apply to our own kids most times! Reema has subtly explained her own struggles and parenting journey gracefully and as she has rightly mentioned in her foreword this book ainât a guide or lecture on parenting..itâs just like a warm cup of chai and a resonating conversation between author and reader..perspectives on how to view the glass as half full, unparenting, unlearning & co-growing!

Loved it! A must read for every parent
I recommend this book to every parent for helping raise thoughtful and aware children. I loved Reema's writing style and the many suggestions of handling the most awkward situations with integrity and sensibility... It's like she speaks to you directly in a trusted conversation pouring her heart out where you silently go yes me too and wish to tell her your bit... I gained perspective of letting mistakes be a learning pad rather than a memory full of regret... Thanks for this and keep writing!!!

THE ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE WHAT SHOULD I LEARN MUCH AGOâźď¸
Before writing any words, I should thankReema for penning down this marvellous book and I do agree with the fact that it shouldn't be in schools in academic syllabus . As I'm sure very few teacher would work hard to make the students entirely educated about this book what Reema worked hard to make us well aware .Parenting is not such an easy task that we prepare for any exam/entrance and get well trained to confront this toughest exam . It can't be compared to any other task/education/knowledge/practice/research or something like that. It varies from one person to another how s/he would implement in her/his life. Those who didn't/did give birth to a child, would practice/exercise this hard task according to their own .Still why there's difference between their upbringing of their children and a large amount (if I'm not wrong) face different problems during this very important course of parenting? The answers are widely discussed by Reema, which made her book a monumental not only for the parents but also for the children, be she/he a girl child or a boy. When a book becomes a guide and a friend to the readers and goes beyond any boundaries of gender, sex, age and all, that creation becomes distinctively different from any other book.A book, which should be in each hand of this so called middle-class mentality with a conservative mind, not to discuss openly with the growing generation (be they adolescent or matured in age, but not in mind) a perfectly relevant book to unveil the actual/real (not something imaginary that can be dreadly or create any romanticism/erotica without any prior knowledge/consent/mutual consensual acknowledgment)Youngsters, Parents and many more such people are there who don't have the clear and transparent knowledge about the knowledge of adolescence, the most turning period of one's life and without any hesitation Reema did a miraculous job ,writing so transparently about each stage of human life's different ages and the gradual changes of the body, mind and psychology. This is absolutely a much needed book, which widely discussed with human life's ( beyond any bar of gender) most common cycles and systems of daily life, which is worth reading .---Sonali
