If you are referring to an ethernet connection with a wire from a drop in the wall - that would be considered POE (power over ethernet). This projector doesn't have network capabilities at all, wireless or wired, so an internet connection is irrelevant to the product. It also does not have Bluetooth capabilities. There are three options to set for timing: 15 mins, 30 mins, and 60 mins, but as far as I know - there is no way to run it without the timer. So, yes. You'll need to push a button to turn the projector on every time you want to use it. It won't turn on automatically when plugged into an electrical outlet, however, it does begin to charge automatically when plugged in, and you can use the projector while it's charging.
