Well built hitch
Unlike others, the box the hitch came in was relatively unmanaged, and the hitch was in good shape inside. It’s stout, and once attached fits perfectly under the bumper of my 2023 cx5.Install as others have mentioned can be tricky. I watched many videos and read a lot of the reviews here. Here’s my 2 cents on the install:If you have a lift or ramps, it will make your life easier for sure. Others reported doing it without ramps so I installed it from the ground. It’s a lot more awkward trying to angle and lift the hitch into place and under the bumper fascia with the small clearance from the ground with the exhaust lowered.Get a friend to help. While you can get creative and put it on yourself, even with my wife helping, we struggled a bit on the alignment of the hitch and getting the first bolts started with the two of us. Would be a lot harder just myself. I ended up using Jack stands to help support the hitch during this part of the install.Use packing tape for the washers as suggested in the videos. I read in one review where superglue was used and almost went that route. The hole in the washers is smaller than that on the hitch itself, and the tape allows a little bit of flex/movement in the washers to help finagle pulling the bolt through with the fish wire. I think having a truely fixed washer ups the chances of struggling getting both front and rear bolts to line up unless you get lucky on exactly where you glued the washer on.Overall, very doable diy, but there was some frustration and cursing during the install. The hitch is great, used it this weekend for my bike carrier! I plan to go back in a few weeks to make sure the bolts are still properly torqued down.

good quality, comes with instructions too
Perfect for a 2025 Mazda CX5. Took me a few hours to install by myself. Nice looking.

Solid investment
We added this hitch to our 2028 Mazda CX-5 mini SUV and it fit perfectly. Luckily I know someone with a body shop so they put my car on a frame machine like the installation video showed at no additional cost and took about 45 minutes to install. We couldn’t get the washers to fit on the inside of the frame (where it was to be taped) so we put them on the outside when we bolted the screws.Everything was as expected and now my family has a bike hitch that can carry all 4 of our bikes safely and conveniently thanks to this small investment in my car.

Super easy install, hides well
I installed this on a 2018 CX-5. The process was easy. I used two ramps to back the car up on to get space under the rear bumper. I didn't need to go to the top of the ramps to have enough room to work. The instructive were clear although I did watch a number of videos online and found the U-haul video the best.I recommend removing the muffler rubber mounts from the muffler side instead of the car side. Or at least switching it frog the muffler to the car after dropping the muffler.I am only towing a tiny motorcycle trailer currently but shortly will tow an 8 canoe trailer for Scouts which will push the vehicle, not the hitch.

Great receiver, questionable instructions
So far, so good. The hitch receiver is great, though installing it as a first time installer without a lift and without someone who knows how to install them was.. "fun".. 🤣The instructions are a bit scant, so let me just give you a tip that you gotta tuck the wings / sticking out parts under the bumper at kind of an angle before pushing the bumper into the right place.I'm sure it can be done with one person, but if you don't have a lift, I definitely suggest two to get those holes (giggity) lined up properly for the bolts. Check out some online videos to fill in the blanks on the instructions. Make sure to torque those bolts properly.Anyway..great product as always. Yay towing campers because that's cheaper than a hotel room! 🤣

Good part
All good, it's not difficult to install but you need a little help with someone else. Also as an observation they should put where one can put the connector to put the plug of the trailers

Mechanic complemented how well made this is - 2023 Mazda CX5
Just had my local maint shop install the hitch for me, while I was paying the mechanic came out to me and said how well made this was and how it fit perfectly into the car (behind the muffler, etc). Made me feel good about my choice to buy this. I have not yet used it but it's a sturdy and I'm sure will be fine.

Great value
The dealer wanted to charge me over $400 plus labor to install a hitch on my Mazda CX-5. So I just casually looked to see if I could find one cheaper and maybe pay someone else to install it. After reading reviews, I settled on this one. After ordering, I started watching videos and realized I could install it myself. The fish wire included with this made install a breeze! Definitely a hack I'll use in future. My husband and I installed this in roughly 45 minutes. The hardest part of the task was us arguing about how to slide it in to seat it (turns out I was right, he was wrong, so we had to pull it back and reseat it lol). Everyone said it was hard to pull out the exhaust hangars, it wasn't. Pop them out using a screwdriver to pry them with a little effort. He held it in place, I installed and torqued all the hardware. Popped the exhaust back on. It was too easy. The packaging was damaged and torn when it arrived as others have mentioned, but the hitch itself was not damaged. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. I have hauled the bike rack, a store rack that I have, and a small kayak trailer. I couldn't be happier, or prouder of the hundreds of dollars I saved for a great quality and highly rated product.
