A Walk in the Dark and Other Scary Stories: An Acorn Book (Mister Shivers #4)

We have all of the Mr. Shivers books now. My daughter loves them and honestly so do I. Not too scary, just spooky enough.

Great books for a seven year old to read by them self

Its an easy read for my 6 year old but she loves the stories. Her reading ability is above average for her age.

My 4 year old loves this book series. The only downside is that we've read the books so many times the binding is coming undone and the pages become loose.

This children's book is a fantastic read for young minds. The story is engaging and the illustrations are beautifully done, capturing the imagination of the reader. It's a great addition to any child's book collection

I picked up the whole series (4 books) from the library when my kids weren't with me. My 7 yo, who is a prolific and proficient reader, found them in my library bag and read them all in one sitting. He really likes them, told me they were really funny. I sat down to read one story with him and I was cracking up. I ended up reading several with him cuz we were both enjoying them so much. These are a super quick read but a lot of fun, with just enough of a creepy feel to be "ghost" stories but not actually scary. I'm gonna look for more books by this author.

Loved the other books in this series so we were waiting for this new edition. A little to silly for me. I feel he put more thought into his previous books.

The kids like the books. I bought them for readers transitioning to chapter books. HOWEVER...they do not hold up. The quality of binding is very poor and the pages come out after just a couple of uses.

I originally bought this book for my six year old to encourage him to read however my four year old is smitten with it! Who knew. Great series, all equally as good - not too scary but just the right amount of creepiness. Perfect for a 6 year old (and 4 year old, apparently).
