The setup was quick and easy, and the WiFi connectivity allows convenient access to readings from anywhere. The measurements appear accurate, and the app is user-friendly and provides helpful notifications and historical data. Overall, this is a reliable product that offers great value for the price. Update: 8/2025I have not had problems with the replacement as I did with the first thermometer/hydrometer. Battery life last a little bit longer but I am definitely changing the batteries more than twice a year. I found that using rechargeable batteries didn’t last as long and I was charging them mote frequently. Aside that, it is reliable. We have power outages often and I worry about my fur babies and fosters when I am out pf the home. The notifications make this helpful. Govee products also pair up with Alexa. Overall I am so happy with the thermometer. One year while working in a remote area in the desert my swamp cooler in my RV stopped working. I received the notification from the app and checked and could tell from the graph on the app at what time the swamp cooler stopped working and rushed back to my duty station. Govee thermometer saved my cats. I got back found the swamp had stopped working and was able to switch it to AC.This will be second unit that I’ve had to replaced luckily Amazon has great customer service. I rely on this to check on the temp in RV because I have three cats. I work in the desert and am parked where I have wifi and shore power, having this until is great because I can check on the temperature while I’m in the field working, as long as I have wifi service.PROS:Battery operated no need to plug it in and helpful for folks who are boondocking and have wifi access.Connects to wifi and you can check the temperature/humidity remotely.No monthly subscription.You can program it to send alerts when the temperature/humidity drops - low/high.I enjoy the downloaded app that allows me to check in and monitor.CONS: Battery life is short, pack extra batteries with you because they don’t last longer than 2.5 weeks. Perhaps if you set it to not send out frequent reports on temps they would last longer, but I’m worried about my cats and want to make sure that they are staying cool, we have power outages at our duty station which means the electrical can go out and I rely on our swamp and AC to keep things cool. I ended up buying rechargeable batteries in order to reduce waste.Be gentle when opening the kickstand part because it will break.The second unit that I have is less than a month old, batteries put in 2.5 weeks ago have started to read the wrong temperature. Refer to my video when I compare it to another thermometer. Although it was reading a few degrees off, the purpose of my having this is for accuracy.Amazon is replacing this unit which arrives tonight. I also just ordered Energizer rechargeable batteries.A small investment but I don’t like the idea of having to buy batteries all of the time, it’s wasteful and expensive.Anyhow this is great for those of us who travel but you need access to wifi if you want to check on the app.Overall I am very pleased. I had done a lot of research on a unit like this, many seemed to have issues, and this is simple to use. Govee will also sync with Alexa, which I have done but it only reads the humidity.

This is a good WiFi-enabled thermometer plus hygrometer "smart sensor." It uses some kind of ink-like display so it looks really sharp but only in adequate lighting. There is no backlight so you cannot read the display in dim lighting.You use their app to add this to the WiFi network; it also communicates with your phone by Bluetooth when you're nearby and the app is open. You can set up alerts to monitor temperature and/or humidity level; if either falls below or rises above thresholds you set, the app beeps (or you can ask to receive email alerts -- you must use an email to sign up to use the app, as is the norm nowadays).It's the WiFi setup where this product falls short of expectations -- and the reason for deducting one star for an otherwise nice product. I bought two of these. In both cases, and at two different location but both with excellent WiFi reception (this product only works with the 2.4GHz band), the app failed to scan for the WiFi networks. I had all the settings such as location and Bluetooth turned on, yet for the first time in working with IoT devices I encountered an issue with an app not scanning for networks, let alone finding any network. Like I said, I did the setup at two separate locations and also on different days, so it's definitely a bug with the app.The solution, it turns out, is to type in the WiFi name (SSID) manually, then type in the password. Once I did that for both units, they connected to WiFi quickly, and have stayed connected nicely ever since. BTW, the error message was really not helpful -- it referred to going to settings then WLAN in the app, but there's no such setting and when I tapped network setting, it just went straight back to the same screen with the same error message. These Chinese companies still have a long way to go to develop user-friendly and *working* apps.In the end, this WiFi-enabled thermometer-hygrometer combo is exactly what I was looking for, as I have an unreliable AC unit which requires me to monitor the temperature for my health. And this Govee product, once set up, does seem to work -- and its readings seem accurate (I used several other thermometers, some old analog types and some recent digital ones, to compare).

I just received this today, and while I’ll give it a moment, I will most likely be returning it. For one of the more expensive devices of its type ($40), it is ridiculously tiny—about half the size of a smartphone. The product photos make it look much larger on a wall, so I assumed I’d be able to read it from across the room. See photo where it looks to be larger than a baby‘s head.I bought this to monitor the apartment temperature for my dog during the summer so I’d know when to remotely adjust my air conditioning using my existing Govee setup. It’s definitely nice to have it incorporated within the GOVEE app. But I was also hoping that it would be large enough that I could also read it on my WYZE cameras, unfortunately, even when zoomed in the numbers are too small. It wouldn't matter anyway, because the temperature reading is drastically off. It’s clearly around 72° in my home, but the device has been stuck reading 79° for over an hour.You can make adjustments within the app, so calibrate it with a more accurate thermometer— but that feels counterintuitive and frustrates me that I would need to buy another more accurate thermometer so that this thermometer would then be useful to me… Very disappointing product for the price.

This is a very handy thermometer hydrometerWe now have two of them they’re handy and it’s nice to be able to see and track the history with the Wi-Fi connected app.One is used for monitoring sourdough bread making process and the other for monitoring storage of sensitive medication and supplements

Great indoor thermometer. It seems accurate compared to the old that I was using. The screen is very easy to read and doesn’t have an annoying glare like some of them. The app seems to work fine too. I do have issues with keeping the widget working on my home screen but I’m not sure if that’s a Govee issue or an iPhone issue. I would recommend this.

I had some problems connecting it and almost sent it back but it is working fine now. The support team is excellent and assisted with any questions. I’ve only had it a short time so will update this review if necessary but so far it is working as intended.

It does work perfectly, I have been using it nearly for a month now. The app is great to track the temperature and humidity. It works over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The e-ink on this is awesome, extremely clear and easy to view. Looks and feels very high quality and well built. Was easy to set up network reporting straight to the app. Sensors seen accurate. Great product.

Easy to see and seem to be reasonably accurate.

Didn't try connecting it through wifi but so far so good. It seems acurate.
