I should bought one years ago, so easy to program it only two minutes. Works like it came with the truck

Direct replacement
Dealer wanted $100 to program this FOB. Also stated that the ones made in China most likely would not program at all. If that was the case I was still out the dough. So, I went to YouTube and found easy programming instructions. Took 5 minutes and worked the 1st time. Seems OK for now. Do not know the durability as its only been a few days. Stay away from the "stealership" on this one and program yourself.

Exactly what I expected. Programming was very easy to do myself. Replaced factory fob.

FAILS to program for professional locksmith.
Took it with my other FOB and 2004 Chevy Astrovan to a highly regarded locksmith. They spent half an hour with the OBD programmer tool and tried every setting. This thing simply refused to cooperate. FAIL.

Worked on 05 Astro
Well dang, it worked! I was skeptical this remote would work on a 2005 AWD Chevy Astro van. I got more skeptical when the website referenced with the instructions* said only a locksmith or dealer could do it. But following some instructions on Astrosafari.com I programmed it to my vehicle easily. (I used the instructions that said to hold the unlock while turning the ignition on three times, not the instructions that said to jumper the OBDii connection.) * Also? There were no instructions included. Just a small piece of paper with the website RemotesRemotes.com listed. In a photo I show the remote disassembled. It came fully assembled with battery and everything, I just wanted to show the insides in case that helps anyone.

Does not work . Can't return it
I finally tried to program it to my Jimmy and it does not work. I spent a lot of time trying everything including buying a new battery for it. Both the Jimmy and the instruction program from the URL worked because it would program my existing key fob. Either they sent me the wrong key fob or it is simply garbage. It deserves a zero star review. I still want a working key fob but I can't because of the short cut off date for returns.
