Purchased as a gift for a friend that loves dragons. This was beautiful and clear. The dragon had a great amount of detail. Would buy again.

Marvelous. I could not be happier and no doubt will be back to buy another. Its packaged beautifully and sent pictures to friends from the moment I began to display it in my miniature castle display. Its decent clarity. Almost crystalyn. Thank you. I'll be back for more.

First off, I want to point out a tip that another reviewer posted. The egg is very unstable on the base. A thin film of clear silicone fixed that. Unfortunately, the rim of the base is cut irregularly, and the egg does not seat well enough to block out a bit of direct light leakage from the LED even after applying the silicone. A small minus. Then there is the battery. I initially turned the base on and left it sitting for just over an hour. When I saw it again the LED had almost faded out completely. After it sat overnight (off), it did light up brighter again the next day, but I would imagine that if you leave it on for more than a few minutes at a time it would drain the battery very quickly. Not a deal breaker for me as I couldn't care less even if the base didn't light up at all. The way the base glows is not like the pictures, it kind of just lights up in a way that makes the rocks seem totally fake. Instead of light up through the crevices it illuminates through the entire base. (Until the battery weakens anyway! ;-P)On to the egg itself. I chose the red dragon. And unlike several other reviews I read (with pics) My egg is flawless and clear. While it's no fine crystal or anything, it is as near to 100% transparent as the eye can tell with no bubbles in the resin as one reviewer pictured. In addition, I read that there where issues with peoples' eggs being scuffed or scratched. The item I received has no blemishes on it whatsoever.With regards to what some reviewers said, my egg lights up quite nicely. Maybe the other colors are different. But I have a tip that may help. *PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU ARE NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED!*When I initially examined the base, I noticed immediately that the LED was actually leaning over almost to a horizontal position. Before I had even illuminated it for the first time, I VERY CAREFULLY bent the LED so that it was standing in an upright position thus directing the light upward as opposed to into the side of the base.Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and am definitely considering buying another color.

Really like the concept design. The rock itself looks better than the dragon with more details/texture. The dragon inside the "egg" however lacks detail and isn't near the quality that is shown in the picture provided. Lets just say I was hyped for this but it didn't meet my expectations. I just hope I don't find one of these at FiveBelow or I'll return this asap.

Have purchased 6 dragons eggs with lava base, one for each kid. Kids are late 50s early 60s. They all love them!!Wonderful whimsy gift.
