Wonderful fix

Good reception and vol. Got it to listen to baseball while walking the dog. Perfect for that purpose. Only wished it had AM. Got the package deal, not just radio. Ear phones are comfortable. Directions are in large type due to the fact that the manual is the largest size to fit the box. That was a really good idea.

This is a nice little FM radio that runs on 2 AAA batteries.Reception is good and it gets plenty loud.It does not have a built in speaker, but has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack that can be used to connect it to a speaker.The digital display and tuning is nice, much better than having to wiggle a dial.It does not have an auto-scan, so you do have to click through each .1The mode button toggles the +\- buttons between volume and tuning.The clock is always on.Giving 4 out of 5 stars. Ability to turn off completely and auto-scan would make it a 5.

I bought this for my son and it works well. Battery life seems good and reception is good.

Fantastic product. Used for several weeks now. I keep volume on level 1 and bump up to level 2 or 3 if needed when riding my bike. Excellent reception and sound. Really, the sound quality is very good. I use Apple corded in ear buds and it sounds just great. It takes a little while to set up the stations but just read and follow the instructions. I bought a second one to have around in case of emergencies to hear broadcast radio. Thank you to the manufacturer and Amazon. Amazing value considering the price too.

I bought this four months ago. For what I wanted at under ten, it does what it should and nothing more but the biggest drawback is how it runs through batteries at a shockingly fast rate.What I needed it for—keep in mind that I bought this for a specific purpose and my review may not apply to you. My workplace internet blocks all music and video streaming but I work best with music on in the background. Not wanting to burn through my phone battery and cellular data plan, I wanted just a simple radio. I spent a long time looking for one. I regret not keeping the many multiple inexpensive, simple, small analog radio devices I had from the 90s-00s because it was weirdly hard to find a small radio.Sound quality—I work in a very large metropolitan city in the US and the radio frequencies are strong. On this device, they come in fairly clearly but sometimes if I don’t have it situated in the right spot, I can get some static. This might be a problem for those residing farther away from radio towers or with weaker signals, I’m just not sure. I have the device plugged into a higher quality Bluetooth speaker and other than the occasional static if I move it around, the sound quality is very good. It is a little ridiculous to have multiple cords, separate devices, and wires running all over the place for what is archaic technology, especially when small radios were a dime a dozen in the past.Buttons/Display—setup and the display were fine, the manual is descriptive enough, but the buttons can be a little frustrating. The buttons default to volume control so if you want to change from one preset station to the next, you have to press “mode” and then very quickly press “+/-“. If you take even more than a second, it’ll default back to increasing the volume. This double button pressing is annoying to me but maybe not to others. For me, it is especially frustrating when I’m trying to quickly bypass a certain commercial jingle about donating your cars. You know the one. Those seconds really count.Battery life—now here is where I have a major problem with this device. It goes through batteries like CRAZY. For those using in short bursts, they may not notice but for me, with about 5 hours of continuous use each weekday (5 days, only using it at work), I had to change batteries about once a week. I feel like that’s a really short amount of time for something so small and simple without speakers. I got so tired of buying batteries that I am now using high quality eneloop rechargeables and I still have to recharge every week. I think that’s a lot. Also, there’s no real warning about the battery life, it “tells” you by randomly turning off. It looks like it’s still working because the clock is fine but it just suddenly turns the radio off. You’ll be confused, turn it back on, only to have it turn itself off again. At first it’ll be after a few minutes, then that’ll turn into only getting a few seconds of radio before it turns off. No beeps or anything. That’s just how you know. When changing batteries, it’ll remember the presets but not the time. So while you don’t have to reset your radio stations, you do have to constantly reset the time. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t set the time anymore because of how often I have to change the battery. I have thought about buying batteries that would convert this into a permanent plug-in powered device, but I just can’t justify paying the same price for that as I did for the device making it double the cost. If you don’t want to keep replacing batteries, you should look into paying a little more for a device that remains plugged in.Also be aware that I was not paid or given anything for this review but they do offer things if you give five stars.TLDR: good sound quality, dealbreaker if you use it continuously because the battery life is abysmal.

Does not work as advertised. The reception is terrible. I live one mile away from a 100,000 watt radio tower. I am on a hill top as well. CLEAR line of sight view. Does this thing pick it up? No! Also - when I do find a station it will receive, the screen shows the frequency lower than the actual frequency the station uses.The instructions are crud. I have tried and tried and tried using the instructions to program in radio stations. The moment I turn it off - they are gone.This was a complete waste of money.

My 1st, and 2nd most important criteria are reception and sound quality. Amazon just dropped this off on my porch. I tuned in my favorite (low power) FM station and it sounds absolutely perfect... everywhere I've gone inside and outside my house. I tried my Samsung Galaxy S9's FM function today and it was good most of the time but there was static, dropped reception briefly at times, which is disappointing. But this little gem of a 2x AAA radio sounds wonderful. The stereo is great, separation is excellent, consistently comes in without static or hiss. I have a couple of Sandisk M250 FM/MP3 players, about the same size, that run on a single AAA and has a configuration system in which I can choose mono or stereo for FM and I mostly leave it on mono because the stereo is 1/2 the time pretty nasty with noise and hiss. But this Portable Radio, ZHIWHIS FM Digital Tuner doesn't seem to require an optional mono setting. Fingers crossed, maybe in different weather it will, but so far it sounds fantastic. It's simplicity itself, but that's all I need. The fact that it uses 2 AAA batteries is great, I much prefer this to a lithium ion battery solution, which can be unsafe and those batteries eventually wear out. I always have charged Eneloop AAA batteries on hand. For me, this is perfect. It's actually quite handsome to look at.This is currently unavailable (6/1/21), but I have two, hopefully they'll hold up. Given my experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend this little gem. Hopefully it will be available again.Edit: It's available now, July 18, 2024. A long review here complained about battery life but the reviewer must have had a different item, theirs kept time, this does not.
