Great tool, makes perfect crimps, less frustration than other crimpers.
Accurate crimping of Weatherpack terminals. The ratcheting mechanism makes the job easier and it also prevents over-crimping of the terminal itself. The tool is a bit heavier than most, but it is well constructed, high quality, has well padded handles, and the ability to not to loose it’s grip on the terminal you are working on make it worth while. I own several icrimp tools for other applications (PEX clamps, for example) and prefer them over some higher priced crimpers that don’t have the capabilities of this tool. I’ve used it on 30+ terminals so far and would give it an excellent rating.

Good tool truck alternative.
I like these crimps a lot. They're a good alternative from the tool truck and do work great. The build quality is good. They're not as accurate as the tool truck ones but they make the same crimps in the end, just may have to fit the pin in the jaws more carefully. When your crimp is done it's indistinguishable from nicer crimps or oem. Do recommend.

This is the type of job that will be done once and has to be right
These crimpers arrived today and I went out and did some test crimps. I meant to use these on bare regular crimp terminals as well as Molex Style DELPHI AMP TYCO Terminals. It does the bare regular crimp terminals reasonably well but you have to get used to it and how it works. With bare regular crimp terminals they have a split and that split needs to be dealt with properly if you are going to get a very tight crimp. The crimp section that is meant to fold the open Molex Style properly also does the same thing to the regular crimp terminals if you take the time and position the split the proper way.I wondered if this would work out, and it does. I have to use all the slots on this crimper except the smallest one but it works. The bare terminals I'm doing are smaller awg 18 - 22 size. The terminals are ELECALL IT-420 420pcs 18 in 1 Crimp Terminals bought here on amazon.I also have some Molex Style terminals that are from a relay panel that holds 5 Bosch 24v relays that plug in from the top. The Molex Style terminals slip in from the bottom and are held via small tabs that are bent out. This crimper worked on those but did have some problems with the wings on the open style terminal. I had to work it slowly until I could get those wings to behave and bend over in the center. Same thing for the outer part that grips the insulation, it worked but took some technique before it was properly crimped.I am going to finish these off with Eventronic 3:1 Heat Shrink Tubing bought here on amazon, the type with glue inside so it seals and once cooled holds very well.I do not know what type of terminals this crimper would "just work" on as in, grab, crimp, done. It does what I hoped it would do, crimp regular bare terminals, but with some careful "technique" applied. The wiring job I bought all this for is a 2006 Enco 14x40 industrial lathe. I am rewiring the entire thing from 3ph to use a VFD drive. The on, start, stop, forward and reverse, E-Stop and safety interlocks are all going to work as it did before I removed the entire electrical panel with old relays and transformer and replaced it all with the VFD drive and 5 Bosch 24v relays. This is the type of job that will be done once and has to be done in such a way so it will be reliable and last, perhaps longer then me.~

good crimpers for those weird molex pins
let's get real. these pins shouldn't exist. and theres no real good way to crimp them. but for the price these are the best I've found. on par with Daniels/DMC. for about 100$ less. they're spring release with no ratchet mechanism, so safety wise that's a plus. you have to do 2 crimps with these. the first is the actual wire crimp, next the insulation one. you use the same size slot so it's super easy and quick. and unlike the garbage ones my work has these have pin gauges labeled on the crimper jaw. the only issue I've had is doing aircraft USB pins. they're super small so even after a crimp I use the flat part of the jaws of these to compress the pin crimp 90° aprt from the initial one. otherwise they're too flat to fit into the connector. Side note: also own this brand of environmental splice crimpers. they ratchet and aside from using slip rings to hold them together (they rattle) they do as good a job as the work Daniel's/DMC crimpers. I work acft avionics for a living. use both daily.

They work ok, but you can buy a crimper that makes nicer crimps for the same amount of $.
I already own a set of SG Tool Aid 18910 weatherpack crimpers but I needed a second set so I figured I would give these a try since they looked like a more refined design. The design is better and I like the spring to automatically open the crimper back up with a latch to hold them closed for storage. The handles are nicer too. But the SG crimper makes nicer more repeatable crimps. Both tools form nice crimps on the wire. The SG tool makes a nice round crimp with the ends of the tangs that hold the weatherpack seal meeting parallel to eachother. This crimper tends to make the tangs that hold the seal bend away from the seal toward the end of the pin. It does hold the seal in place and is more of a cosmetic defect than anything else. While they do work ok and form a good connection with the wire itself, I would rather have the crimper that makes nicer effortless crimps since they are effectively the same price (the SG tools crimper is slightly cheaper but it`s less than $1 difference between the 2).
