Initial Review (short summary and/or long detail comprehensive) Updates!
Updates! (see below)Initial Review:This review is based on Buture SuperCap battery-less Jump Starter that cost around $100 in September of 2022. This is a fairly thorough review, but not yet a complete review (as an initial review). If you don’t want the details and just the gist of it read the summary. Or check out the Content below summary to read whichever section you want more details about. Thank you for reading my review.Summary (to the point): Buture SuperCap jump starter has higher specification compare to other SuperCap while being priced at the lower end. Compared to Lithium jump starter Buture SuperCap cost is similar for 2000 amp units. What really sold me was SuperCap jump starter does not need to be charged constantly for maintenance because it is not a battery. Therefore you can leave Buture in the car and forget about it until you need it. It also has a higher temperature performance range that is greater than Lithium. I do not need to worry about it blowing up from excessive heat or be ruin by the cold like lithium battery would (because Buture is not a battery). SuperCap is safer to use. Super Cap can be used millions of time continuously if you want unlike lithium jump starter only has 300 to 500 life cycles. 2000 amp lithium unit can jump start about 30-40 times before needing a recharge itself. SuperCap (10 years) will last longer than a lithium (3-4 years) jump starter. The only advantage lithium has here is that its more diversify in being able to charge other devices. SuperCap is a dedication jump starter that stays in the car until it’s needed. I used it and it worked.Content: (skip to any part you want to read)1. Product dimension and weight2. FIRST IMPRESSIONButure SuperCap comes in a nice delivery box that is sealed tightly in clear plastic (no doubt its new and not used like some packaging that may come substandard). Inside the box the black carry case looks solid. The handle is durable yet flexible plastic with pill figure holes in it that allow for better grip. Zipper goes very smooth when opening and closing. The first thing you notice after opening the carrying case is the jump starter in a white semi-transparent filmy plastic cover/bag. The jump starter sits securely inside the carry case. At first I tried using my fingers to get it out but there was no room inside for my fingers to get a hold. What I mean is the jump starter is snuggled so tightly in the case as if it’s wearing spandex. I am not saying it’s a bad thing. I actually like that it’s a tight fit. Less movement allow for more secure hold. Less banging and less possible damage while in the case.I had to pull the filmy bag and slightly tilt the case to get it out. On the inside top of the case is where the attachments are zipped in. In between is a cushion flap that protects the jump starter from the jutting attachments on top.The cigarette lighter, USB-C and charging cable looked to be good quality parts. Visually it looks nice and after handling it they do not feel like cheap stuff that will break. Overall impression from the quality of the case to the detail of the interior fitment and cushion flap to the attachment and the jump starter itself I got to say it was better than I expected.Special note (something that many may not have noticed):Here something I didn’t notice at first but the case interior is custom fitted well for this unit. What I mean is that the unit is actually meant to be placed inside in a specific way. Why do I say that, because I notice the interior of the case has indentations arranged in a way that the red button on the unit has a slot between indentations for placement inside. That is so the red button does not get pressed accidentally while inside the case. If you press the red button while it is not connected to the battery, the unit screen will turn on.3. MANUALThis is definitely one of the better manuals I have read in a long time. This is especially so for a product manufactured in China. I have seen my fair share of foreign manual translated to the America market and many mistakes adds up to an illegible manual. The manual itself may be a small booklet, but it’s quite legible and space out nicely. The contents are well written, understandable, no mistype, and the illustration are on point. The founders of Buture are engineers and it shows with the details in the manual, the carrying case and the product itself. It was made in China, but it states their production utilized automated German machinery and equipment. Does that mean better quality? Maybe, but right now the quality does seem above par. Only more time will tell about the longevity of this product.Warranty: I do not see any warranty information on the product page or in the package I received. I did a quick search and found the seller Buture states “We offer 12 months warranty and 3 month free return on all products…” Buture offer a longer return of 3 month stated on the seller’s detail compare to Amazon normal 30 days return period. Not sure if this is valid, since this was not on the product page.I like my new items to have a warranty. Even if it’s a short 1 year warranty most manufacture defect will show up within 1 year. There are exceptions of course. There are also items that may not be used often (a good thing here) like a jump starter. That is when you may have to do some research and take a chance. One thing I like is that the seller Buture has excellent sellers rating. And super capacitors are not batteries so they will last longer. Please do not get confused with the warranty and 10 years claim on the longevity of this product. With the confidence of 10 years why do they not offer a longer warranty? Good question, but that may involve more business choices than the product itself. Your guess is as good as mine. Many similar products from other SuperCap jump starter have the same one year warranty.4. HOW IT WORKSThis part is written in the product description and manual. Instructions Illustrated clearly show how it’s done. So skip this part if you already know or don’t want to read it again here.1) Connect jumper cable to the jump starter. Then connect the red positive clamp (+) to the car positive terminal (red cap or cable). Afterwards connect black clamp to ground/negative terminal on battery.2) The jump starter unit will turn on after connecting to the battery. The display will show the voltage and percentage charged. When the jump starter reaches 100% you may press the red button on the side of the unit. This will start a beeping countdown about 10 second (each beep a second).3) At this time please get into your car within these 10 beeps. Make sure to have the window open already or leave the door open to hear the beeps. After 10 beeps you will hear a different beep. Please start your vehicle within 30 seconds after the 10th beep.5. BUTURE SUPERCAP JUMP STARTER QUALITY?The quality is in the details here. From the unpacking of the box, unzipping of the carrying case to the jump starter, its attachments and the manual; call me impressed. Visually it looks nice. After handling it around the feeling and texture of the material is above par. I have used the product without any problems. From my initial assessment this is a quality product.Mind you I have not broken into the product to see what is inside. I do not know how its layout or the quality of the interior parts or if the soldering was done well or not. I have not fully tested the super capacitor. I can claim that it looks nice, feels nice and it works. As for longevity of this product…it claims to last 10 years, but that has yet to be determined. Seems to last at least twice as long as it battery jumper counterpart.6. PRODUCT FUNTIONALITYI bought this product recently because my car failed to start. I do not drive every day and when I do I usually do not drive too far. This of course drains the car battery and hence failure to start car. I did buy a battery tender to keep it charge up when it’s not in use, but I forget to do so at times (quite often). Now my battery is going bad and I plan to change it soon. Below is the result of the first time I use the Buture SuperCap jump starter on my car. (Please also see pictures)Note: Percent of Battery Charge Remaining by Voltage: Optimal battery range is 12.4 – 12.6+ (80-100%). Anything below 12 volt is less than 50% and will shorten the life of the battery. 10.5 volt and below is 0% charge in the battery. (please see picture Percent of battery)1. Condition of Car Battery:a. Static Voltage: 10.07vb. Measured: 71 CCA (cold cranking amps) ->>this is bad ;(c. Rated: 500 CCA2. After 10 beeps I pressed the Start button and it started right away!7. COMPARISON TO OTHER JUMP STARTER (general comparison)1. Comparison to other Super Capacitor Jump Starter:a. Buture Winsi. Most SuperCaps on the market are between 450 amps to 800 amps. While Buture states 2000 amps. The higher amps means it can jump start bigger vehicles whereas the lower amps have its limits and cannot charge bigger vehicles. (generally for the most part)ii. Most priced between $100 to $200 and more. Buture is also priced at the lower end around $100, but the amperage is much higher.iii. Buture has higher review/ratingb. Other SuperCap Win:i. Buture does not have as many reviews and ratings as its competitor. That means Buture is not well known or as popular. It is a new brand in the competition.2. Comparison to 2000 amp Lithium Jump Starters:a. Buture Winsi. Super Capacitors are not batteries. You do not need to maintain a charge to keep it healthy like lithium. No need to keep charging it like lithium battery. Use it only when you need to use it.ii. Since it’s not a battery you can keep it in the car until you need it. It will not become defective like lithium in hot or cold weather while in the car.iii. Super Capacitor will not explode like batteries could. It is a safer option.iv. Lithium jump starter has a limit on how many times you can jump start a car before you need to recharge itself up. 2000 amp 20,000mAH can jump start about 30 times. Super Capacitor can jump start every time you need it. Does not need to be charged in advance.v. Buture SuperCap can best perform in -40°F to 158°F whereas Lithium ranges are not as great.vi. Does not age like batteries. Stated life span up to 10 years while lithium jumpers average 3-4 years.vii. Buture SuperCap is drop resistance. Unlike batteries that my rupture or go bad from the impact from a drop.viii. SuperCap jump starter can be used a million times repeatedly whereas Lithium jump starter has about 300-500 life cycles. One million compare to Five hundred.b. 2000 amp Lithium Jump Starters Wins:i. Most lithium warranty range from 1-2 years. Buture has 1 year warranty.ii. Lithium stores power that can be used to charge other electronic devices besides car batteries. Super Capacitors do not hold a charge for as long as lithium batteries. Buture SuperCaps is a dedicated emergency jump starter only and not as diversify as lithium jump starter.c. Tie:i. Most lithium 2000 amps are from $70 to $130. Buture falls into the same ball park in price.ii. Buture and other jump starters fall on the same ball park in size. That is all I can think of for now.8. MY PERSONAL OPINION AS A BUYERThe main 2 reasons why I choose to by a Super Capacitor Jump Starter was because it did not need to maintain a charge and two I can keep it in the car without worrying if it’s too hot or cold for it.When I first started looking for a jump starter I was aiming at the Lithium jump starters market. I had one of those big lead jump starters (lead), but I never charged it like you’re supposed to do every 2-3 months to maintain it. I did not even know there was such a thing as SuperCap/ non-battery jump starter. I was thinking wow lithium jump starter last longer than my old lead (RIP).I like how lithium jump starters can charge other devices. I was thinking how often will I need to use it as a jump starter? So having additional usage sounded nice. I also like the option to use its 12v battery to keep power to the cars electronic memory while the battery is taken out (for replacement or whatever) via the OBD2 port. When removing the battery you may lose your preset radio stations, car seat memory save settings and other electronic settings. By providing secondary 12v source of power it keeps that memory alive. At the end I did buy a 1000 amp lithium jump starter for a good price. Now why did I buy the Buture SuperCap jump starter? Well the two main reasons I stated earlier really holds true. My poor Lead (RIP) end was caused by my negligence. For the price and advantages of having a dedicated SuperCap sold it for me. Buture jump starter is my seat belt that I have in place. When I need it one day it will be there to be used. It may also be handy to have around to help others in need.Buture SuperCap jump starter was a risk buy compare to other jump starter. Even though it is highly rated, it currently doesn’t have much of a presence due to fewer reviews. The reason why I choose Buture over other super capacitor was because it looked to have higher specification at a lower cost. Even though there is a risk it’s not as inherent as something like batteries or something in that nature. After research I believe if it works well within the return period it should be gold (at least similar to the other SuperCap).I do not write many reviews, but I felt like writing this one after buying it and using it. I found the quality to be high, but what really moved me was the attention to details. For example: The indentations inside the carry case for the red button; the additional flap to cushion the unit; the translated manual that is very readable. When you find a product that pays attention to little things it adds up. Quality of a product goes up because someone is paying attention to details. It matters. I do not know the internal quality of the unit or how long it will last, but I give it the benefit of doubt because of its quality in the details I mention earlier.I bought it. I like it. It works. I will try to update within 3 months if I use the unit.- I hope you enjoy my review. Take care :)9. UPDATES:• Update #1 (9/23/2022):1) USB charge time.Had to jump start again and decided to share the SuperCap USB charging information (see below). I decided to see how long it took to charge with a Samsung Charger with output at 9v at 1.67amp and 5v at 2amp.Buture SuperCap (Charging Percentage)3% (starting charge at 3% at 4.5v)82% (From 3% in 20minutes)94% (30 minute mark)100% (completely charged in 35 minutes)Well there you have it. 35 minutes to charge from 3% to 100%. This still falls into the 35 minutes or under for USB charging. It may be faster with a stronger USB charger.Of note, I noticed the charging was faster in the beginning and slowed down around the 80% mark.2) Percentage charge retained after first jump start.I had to jump start again 2 hours later and the Buture SuperCap LCD displayed 81% full. I hooked it up to the battery terminal and it charged up in a minute and jump started the car smoothly. So after the first jump start it will hold most of the charge and will be much faster for the next jump start if you need to use it a few hours later.Notes: After I jump start my car I decided to keep the Buture SuperCap connected to the battery terminal for an extra few seconds to a minute to charge up the jump starter in case I need to use it later. For most cases after you jump start once and drive for half an hour or more your car battery should be fine for normal start next time. In my case my car battery was dead and will not hold a charge anymore. I had to jump start every time it stops. It is time for a new battery.• Update #2 (12/02/2022):I have not used the jump-starter recently since I upgraded my car battery. I just wanted to mention that at some point (don't remember exactly) I did receive a postcard from Buture thanking me for my purchase and to register the product for 3 year warranty. Not sure if everyone will get this thank you postcard or 3 year warranty. 3 year warranty is above the standard 1-2 year warranty that most jump starter offer. YMMV.Take care, bye!

Buture Super Capacitor Jump Starter 500F
This is easily the best money spent in a ling time. Although I did not purchase from Amazon, I purchased on clearance from another big-box store for $45. Extremely sad that this product now sells for $160 on other sites as I believe it is discontinued for the most part. As of 1/06/2023, there aren't many options under $100.1st off, do not believe the 1star ratings. Those folks simply do not understand what this product is and it's limitations and where it excels. I'll give you the rundown. This product has CAPACITORS in lieu of batteries. Batteries are designed to release energy over a long period of time, like your car battery or the battery in your TV remote. Capacitors release a large amount of energy in a small amount of time. For this reason, pre-charging this product and storing in your trunk is useless as it will drain to 0% in hours. It is useless in minutes, which is why you do not see capacitors used in TV remotes. This product will charge within 2 minutes if connected to your car battery, given your car battery is abt less than 5V or so. If you are trying to jump a car that has been sitting for months and the battery is 0v-5V (I forgot min voltage required), it will not work. Why? Because there's not enough energy in the battery to charge the capacitors. If the battery is dead, charge the jump starter with: a donor car battery, cigarette lighter in donor car or via battery bank. If you are charging via 12V outlet in donor car or via battery bank, it would be best to have the alligator clips already connected to the battery that needs a jump to save time. Every second counts here. That way when it is charged up, it can quickly be connected to the jump starter. Within seconds of being charged, connect it to the battery to be jumped. With the display on, hold down the power button. While holding, the LED screen will turn off. KEEP HOLDIING BUTTON until the display turns back on. Just like restarting an iphone. Once it is powered back up, it will start the countdown with a series of beeps. Once it is a continuous beep, start the engine. Again, this is the override process when the battery to be jumped is has little no voltage and won’t charge the capacitors.Guess what? A lithium jump box will be useless if left in a cold car. The probability of your car not starting in cold temps is much greater than in warm temps. Cold temps make batteries underperform. The cold will cause the lithium battery to perform poorly as well if left in the car. In reality, lithium batteries will suffer irreversible damage if exposed to freezing temps. High temps can cause lithium batteries to be unsafe. Capacitor jump boxes are not troubled by cold or heat. And they last 10 years. Lithium starters: you might get 3-4 years out of it. Probably less if you live somewhere that experiences temp swings like Chicago.

It just doesnt work for me
I had a battery that had run down. It still had enough juice to crank a couple of times. I followed the instructions - to connect it and let the BUTURE super capacitor charge. When it indicated it was ready ' it did not have enough juice to crank the engine. I tried it a couple of times. I even charged it with aanother vehicle - nada. I had to get an old tome jump started with an internal battery ; and it worked on the first try.I didn't need this until after the return date, so I got stuck with it.

Effective, easy to use
Review of Buture super capictor jump starter purchased 8/2023. Worked great for me the only time I have needed it so far. Was on a Corolla small 4 cylinder gas engine. Very easy to use. Compared to jumper cables, you do not need another car or to maneuver it into position or push disabled car out of garage or parking space. This also poses no risk to the rescue car’s electrical system. Self-rescue is possible. Compared to a lithium starter, you don’t need to maintain a charge and replace it when the battery will no longer hold a charge. Between occasional problems with my cars, and helping out neighbors and strangers, this will no doubt get regular use. I highly recommend every car owner carry this or something similar.
