Review: Very pleased with the performance - We had a few areas in the house which had a weak WiFi signal from our single access point. Initially I tried a mesh extender which did not work well. This mesh system is amazing. We have a 2-story house with a basement. I bought a 3-pack and put one on each level. It was simple and quick to set up using the app. The app also shows what devices are connected to each access point. We live in a rural area and recently switched to StarLink. I simply disconnected the StarLink WiFi access point and connected one of these access points to the StarLink satellite modem and it worked without any configuration changes. Now we have a strong WiFi signal and good data speeds everywhere in the house. Phones and tablets seamlessly connect to the best node. As a retired electrical engineer, I am really impressed with this system.
Review: Good buy to get rid of dead zones for Wifi - This TP-Link Deco XE75 3-pack basically fixed every dead zone in my house. I've got a two-story place with a detached garage and I used to lose signal constantly in the back bedroom — now it's solid everywhere, garage included. Setup was stupid easy, took maybe 15 minutes through the app, and it walks you through placement for each unit. The new 6GHz band is noticeably faster for stuff close to the router, and having tri-band means my smart home devices aren't fighting my laptop for bandwidth anymore. Only real gripe is the price — this isn't a cheap upgrade. Also if you don't have a lot of WiFi 6E devices yet, you might not notice a huge speed boost right away, but the coverage alone is worth it. No more random dead spots, no more yelling "is the wifi down again?" from the other room. Would recommend if you've got a bigger house or just want to future-proof your setup.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is an app or "tp-link account" required or can i setup and manage this purely from a local/web interface?**
A: Hi! To set up and manage your Deco Mesh system, the Deco app and a TP-Link account are required.

**Q: What’s the differences between the xe5300 and xe5400?**
A: Hi! The primary difference is the marketplace in which they are sold.

**Q: This only has 3 ethernet outputs instead of the usual 4? And where is the ethernet from modem input connection?**
A: Hi! Yes, the Deco XE75 is equipped with three Gigabit Ethernet ports. Any of them can be used as the modem Input, and the remaining ports will act as LAN connections. If you require additional Ethernet ports, you can use a Gigabit network switch for increased physical connections.

**Q: I read this is "6-stream". but what exactly is a "stream" ?**
A: A “stream” is a continuous flow of data that travels between a transmitter and a receiver. When you are watching a movie on Netflix, you are "streaming" the bits and bytes that make up the images and sound of that movie from a Netflix server to your smartTV or computer. When a router supports more than one stream, more devices can use that router at the same time without negatively impacting any individual user's experience. A 6-stream router provides six distinct channels along which data can be streamed. Note that some streams may be at a higher data rate than others and multiple devices can use a given stream at the same time. In fact, TP-Link claims that up to 200 devices can simultaneously use the WiFi network provided by the AXE5400.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best for the money, features that others don't have
*by M***S on April 18, 2025*

Let's see where do I begin... First of all, the set up process was a breeze. I've dealt with Netgear nighthawk and Orbi before, and although I generally prefer the hardware of Netgear, not a huge fan of the setup process using an app. Usually had to use the admin GUI to set them up. Not the case with these guys, they're almost as simple and quick to set up as an eero. The Wi-Fi from these units aren't mind-blowing, but I've had mesh units before that are almost unusable after 20 ft. Standalone routers can last up to 60 ft or more. These guys are right in the middle I would say, if you're trying to be dangerous at least. The 2.4 band shoots pretty far, and I admire these separate IOT on 2.4 only that these units offer. Most of my smart devices are 2.4 only, but I have a few of them like my Della AC units that would lose connectivity no matter what Wi-Fi I was using. Might be a month, might be a week. With the IOT network I haven't had a disconnect issue with any of my devices, it's been almost a year. The app also comes with a lot of useful features like parental control which out of the box without any subscription works like a charm. Once you map out the devices in your house and group them together, you can shut them down with the press of a button. No more sneaking on the game console or watching Netflix on a school night. Being able to separate the 6G band from the other two as a nice feature as well, especially when you're on a meta quest 3 that needs every edge it can get over wi-fi. Which by the way, matches the speed over ethernet up to a gig. The only difference I've ever seen between the 6G band and an ethernet connection is maybe one or two millisecond ping. They also have Auto negotiating gigabit Ethernet ports, which makes setting them up in either a home run topology or daisy chain topology over ethernet works like a charm. Plug and play and they will set themselves up, or switch themselves over to ethernet if you had them plugged in as a wireless mesh to begin with. I have to say, I haven't seen the amount of networking tools in a consumer based router before as a tp-link product. With qos, ddns, IP configuration, MAC control and local IP address control... One could easily use these in a commercial setting. As a commercial cable technician that deals with Wi-Fi routers, firewalls and gateways everyday, I gotta say... I think I'm going to stick with TP-Link.
