Really good quality
This notebook is so good for the price. Nice covering and thick pages. I will definitely be buying more colours.

Good Quality
Good quality paper, thick enough to write and draw. Would probably bleed with permanent markers, though. Cover feels super nice and looks sleek and professional. Has a decent pocket size for extra paper/photo storage.

Silvine Equivalent
I have kept a daily journal for the last 6 1/2 years and originally started using Silvine notebooks but the price of them has nearly doubled in that time, making buying them prohibitively expensive.I’ve tried other A5 note books, as I’m sure others have, with mixed results. Hard backed notebooks, that were anything but, notebooks that claimed to be College lined (narrow) that if anything were kindergarten lined (super wide), and even notebooks that weren’t even A5 when advertised to be. I also write using a fountain pen, and some notebooks either have too shiny pages to use an ink pen, or are too absorbent. These notebooks are hard backed, not the faux leather that the Silvine ones are, but are suitably firm. They are College lined, so you get more than ten lines to a page, are A5, and accept a fountain pens ink with no problem.I started using one of them this week, and so far I have no issues, and will be looking to buy them again.

Nice and neat little notebook
I used it to record the thoughts of a Chairman Mao character I know. One day I will give it to his long suffering wife.

MY NEW FAVORITE JOURNAL
I was looking for a sturdy notebook / journal that's smaller than 8.5x11" and this exceeded expectations. It has a "faux leather" cover that's attractive, and the pages are ruled with light lines--enough to keep my writing even, but my sketches stand out & aren't 'skewered' by the lines. (NOTE: These journals are offered "ruled" and "dot-line." I purchased the ruled version.) The paper is a great weight, heavy enough that inks won't bleed through. There's an elastic band to keep the journal closed, as well as a ribbon bookmark. In the back cover is an expandable tagboard mini-folder/envelope to tuck notes or business cards. It's a well-designed piece, and it lays flat open when I write...all for under $9! My wife saw the journal on day one, and asked for one, so I ordered a 2-pack. My only wish is that they were available in different colors...but really, if you're looking for a smaller, sturdy, user-friendly and inexpensive notebook, this is the one!

Buy this now!
I was searching for a good quality journal that I could keep track of my newborns day to day activities and milestones in to look back on as he grows. I noticed this book had great reviews and it wasn’t expensive so I ordered it. I got it the next day and I am very pleased with this purchase. The cover is hard enough that it won’t bend and ruin the journal but it’s not so hard that it’s uncomfortable to write in. The binding is a really good quality I don’t see any issues with pages falling out as I use the journal more and more. The lines are thin and fairly close together but I have plenty of room to write whatever I want to write without feeling that it’s messy or too cramped on the page. It comes with a book mark and a convenient strap to hold the pages back while you write. The pages are thicker than a standard notebook similar to what a book would be printed on. The pages are an off white color so it’s not too bright when I’m staring at the pages but it’s not an ugly discolored page. The book is large enough to fit comfortably in your hand but too large that it takes up a lot of space in my diaper bag and not so small that I can’t record a lot of information. Honestly I am completely 100% satisfied with this notebook it was definitely worth ordering and I will be ordering more for various projects. This would make a great journal for someone trying to keep track of a schedule! I highly recommend this great quality!

This is what I'm talking about!
I write down my dreams (a lot of people do) and doing it on computer just seems disrespectful or something, so I use little journals like this. I go through roughly one a month, so they add up. I used to just pick up whatever they happened to have at local discount store, but I wasn't happy with any of them. They all had problems, most notably tissue-thin pages that bleed ink through, and even if it doesn't bleed, you can still read the other side through them. Crappy bindings, plain cardboard covers, sometimes bizarre decorations on the pages that just take away from usable space, and the fact it was almost impossible to find the same ones on any two trips. So looking for something better, I found these on Amazon. The bottom line: as long as these are available, I'm never going back. One of the pictures shows the pile I've collected since I've switched. Yes, about six months ago. It's night and day. These might cost a little more than the dime-store knock-offs, but no one will ever convince me it's not worth it. To go over what I like:Pros:1. They look sharp. The covers are about the best-looking imitation leather I've ever seen.2. The covers are solid and rigid inside, like they're made of real book board and not flimsy poster board.3. The pages are a soft, non-glare cream color, easy on the eyes.4. The paper is substantial, not tissue. Not only has no ink ever bled through, you can barely even see what's on the other side. And they seem to be absorbent, because I don't think I've ever had ink smear.5. The lines are dashed gray, obvious enough that you can write in perfectly horizontal lines, yet unobtrusive enough that they don't distract from sketches.6. The corners are rounded so that they don't get all dog-eared.7. The assembly is solid, stitched like Britannica. Another picture shows I have no reservations about holding them by a single page; they're not coming out.8. They have a narrow (about 6mm) ribbon bookmark built right in, which comes in really handy when I want to mark and reference back to earlier dreams.9. There is an elastic band around the inside of the back cover, which I'm sure is intended to hold the volume closed, but it can also serve as a second bookmark if you need one.10. There is a pocket inside the back cover that is nice for sticking notes in before I get things written down properly.11. As they promise, the pages lie flat, so you can write clear up to the stitching if you need to. No centimeter or more of wasted space on each page because of cheap binding. The only place there is any complication at all is where the pages join with the covers. There is about 5mm of wasted space, but given the limitations of book binding, I don't know if there is any way around that.12. Trivial but something I like: there are 26 lines per page, meaning 25 spaces. That works out perfectly for my tables of content because I can make them 25 entries per page, which seems like a nice round number. There is a little Adrian Monk in me.I guess that about covers the pros. In short, I can't really think of a way to make them better short of gilded edges. Whoever designed these must be familiar with the practice of journaling. They offer a refund for any reason, but there is no reason I would want one.Cons:None, really. But I will mention one thing that might be relevant to some people. Two of the volumes have small gaps between the signatures where the stitching is a little loose. For me, this is cosmetic only, and in no way affects their usefulness or durability. And it was only those two that arrived in the same order. Might be a bit of a sloppy run. I tried to find such a gap in a later one where I hadn't written yet, but they seem perfect. I had to use one I had already written in to get a photo. Definitely not worth docking a star for. That would be like taking off a star on a new Mercedes because one of the hub caps is on crooked, but I realize there are people who would do that.

Perfect size
Fits right in my husband's Bible case. I have it him for our anniversary and he actually uses it in church not just at home.
