Great gift idea
Got this for a world traveler in our family who has lived in 8 or 9 countries. It arrived in a cardboard box, rolled up in cellophane so I haven't opened it enough to fully inspect it. There are two different scratched included in the kit, along with a magnifying glass and stickers. My first impression is that it could be larger and on heavier card stock, but this size should work great in our case. I'm looking forward to presenting it and sharing the memories of where we traveled together.

Great quality!
Maps and scratch offs, this is a great quality map for my son who travels with me and will be going to Europe next year. I bought one for myself, too! Hangs well with the magnetic frame not included.

Really fun map to track your travels
I've always wanted one of these, just to highlight where I've been, and where I would like to go. The kit comes with a tool to scratch off the coating, a microfiber cloth, and a magnifying straight edge. It comes rolled up in a slender box, which makes working with this pretty difficult. I laid mine out for a couple weeks with books on top of it, and it straightened out for the most part. The coating comes off fairly easily, similar to a scratch off lottery ticket. It can be pretty tricky to get some of the little European countries though. There are also some landmarks at the bottom of the map to scratch off, as well as a flag for every country. Each of the states in the US, Canada, and Australia are identified to you can section those off. There is a huge logo in the bottom right hand corner of the map that I don't care for. I wish it was smaller, or maybe on the back, or just not there at all. It's a bit intrusive and takes the whole look down a notch in quality (in my opinion). This kit comes with stickers that are way cheesy, and are enormous when compared to the size of the countries; they won't see use. Also, the tool used to scratch off the coating is a little sharp. If you use too much pressure, you will cut right through the glossy image and damage the map surface. I did it in a couple places, but luckily it's not really noticeable because I stopped in time. Overall, this is a very fun way to display where you've been in the world, and scratching off the countries can be very zen; like putting a puzzle together. It also spawns random memories as you scratch off each country. I will be ordering a map frame for this and hanging it up. Its a definite motivator to travel more. I've enjoyed this little project, and I highly recommend it for the world traveler.
