controls heat
Good heat control, I had installed headers on my car and even with the ceramic coating I was still having some heat issues with my fuel lines. First I tried the stick on heat shielding but really did fix the heat issues I was having. So I bought a roll of this stuff. The price was good and you get imho a good amount of product. It's fairly easy to work with tin snips will cut the product and bends well. I would say that it might be a good idea when working with it get some leather gloves as the edges and corners can be sharp. Before installing it I would roll the edge over on its self so you don't cut your self at a later time when working on your car.As far as performance I put a shield of this between my header pipes and the frame where my fuel rails run and it has dropped the temps of my fuel rails. In summer with my non contact thermometer I seen the fuel rail get as high as 156 degrees now with the heat shield installed during the summer the rails never get over maybe 90 degrees. This material with the dimpled surface helps deflect a lot of heat away from what your trying to protect.

Easier to use than I thought
The item is easy to use. cutting it and molding it is not a problem, works exceptionally well blocking the heat. Although I must admit you have to be a little bit careful when making pronounced edges because it can break easily if too much force is applied. Perhaps someone with more experience can do a much better job than I did, but even without experience, I am happy with the results.

This stuff is legit - Very Thick - Same OEM look for European Cars & BMW
We are restoring a 1980 BMW 635csi and it was missing the rear fuel tank muffler heat shield. I purchased this hoping it was close to the OE shielding. It is very close. It came rolled up fairly tight so you will have to unroll it. I used my body to bend back 2ft sections at a time. Once I manipulated it a bit with the bender you won't even notice.I used a metal straight edge to make my bends by hand. Then used a large pair of tin snips to trim out the outside edges. After that, I used a bead roller I purchased here on Amazon and rolled the edges. After I was done with the beard rolling it made it much more rigid. I just wish they sold it in larger quantities. Either way, I'm going to buy some more of this for our next project for sure. I'll also have some to have on hand, just incase I need to make something like this again..

This stuff is great!
I used this to make a heat shield for the muffler of my 8.1L motorhome. It worked perfectly, and looks like a professional installation.Be careful with it; it has sharp edges and will cut the bejeezus out of you if you do not respect it.

Well made. Its malleable while still being very strong.
Took a chance that the description was correct and this wasn't some super thin material that would break or tear easily. This sheet is thick, and does its job of blocking heat very well. I needed it for a race car that would be on track for hours of endurance racing. The cabin was always too hot from the exhaust heat. This stopped it almost completely.Because its very malleable I was able to mold it around the exhaust so well that even over its 3ft length none of it touches the exhaust while only being held on by a few large radius rivets. Totally worth the price.

Works well
This is great for creating heat shields to isolate components from hot exhaust pipes where the factory missed them.

Solid, Pliable, Heat Resistant
Solid yet easily bends into and stays in shape. Comes with a couple metal zip ties. Easy fix for a missing heat shield and rusted bolts, I put it right on top of my muffler with the zip ties. If this review is still up, it holds heat well.
