This product works well
I use this for my backyard fire pit. It’s perfect you can pick up wood from the wood pile bring it over to the fire and never have to get out of your chair. It’s perfect!

Missing the latch but I like it
I got this to grab broken branches and stuff while mowing. Very sturdy. Easy to use. Good grip. My only complaint is it didn't come with the latch to lock it on to things. Just a hole where is use to be. On more difficult things I wanted to be able to latch it on and then change my grip. But I don't want to go thru the hassle to return and and order a new one. I can make this work. It would be 5 stars if they had sent me the whole product with the latch. The edges aren't "razor sharp" like the video says but yes you should wear gloves when using, there are no plastic grips on this. But I do wish it had the latch.

Useless
To small of a jaw it’s good for little branches not split wood for a fire place more money going the wrong way

Perfect for those with small and/or portable fire pits.
This is very well made, with stainless hardware and a decent cable and spring system. Where this really shines though it how useful it is for those of us with portable fire pits. As shown in one of my photos is this item alongside typical fireplace tongs. The large black tongs are really just to big at the business end to grip most of what I have to place into my fire pit, or reposition as wood burns. The screen around the pit is always in use when burning, so it makes it even harder to get a good angle on anything using the larger black tongs. These tongs can handle all the wood meant to go into my fire pit (up to 4 - 5lbs per log) with zero frustration over any of the wood slipping out as it did with my larger ones. Less time messing with wood means less smoke in my face as well. The only con is the actual grip size. These are best suited for adults with larger hands (see pics I posted) as it is a little bit of a stretch to squeeze the handle for smaller hands. They can be folded in half (as shipped), but that seems to want to create a flat spot on the inner wire cable. The teeth on the jaws bite well enough to hold the wood without actually digging into it. They are 30" longer overall. My other tongs and pokers remain outside hung from a nearby tree, but these will be kept out of the weather when not in use. The finish does look like it’s made to handle some weather though. These completely solved the issues I had with the larger tongs and I’m very happy with these.

Clunky, Awkward
Skip this. This is not a good design. Ergonomically, this fireplace tool is designed for a Blue Shell Crab but not a primate with opposable thumbs. It is as functional as left handed stick shift with a clutch pedal in the passenger footwell.

Useful grabbers
I haven't yet used this for fire logs, but I believe it would be quite functional for this, as long as the pieces were relatively small, as shown in the description.I just wanted a heavier duty grabber for use around the house and storage. I have limited space and a lot of clutter and often find myself having to reach over/around things to get to something and any sort of grabber like this can be very useful. I used this the other night to reach over a pile of boxes to grab the handle of a small plastic toolbox that I needed to get into. Worked great.Compared to standard plastic grabbers, the angle of this would seem a little odd, but having one straight immobile jaw gives you the ability to really push under or into things, which would be excellent for its advertised purpose. For tending a fire, I would almost like this grabber to be a little longer, but for a small fire pit, it would be sufficient.Don't be put off by complaints about the stainless steel being magnetic or showing rust - most stainless steel used for hardware and common home products still contains some iron, and will surface rust if left wet for very long. This is for moving logs, not performing surgery :-).
