Freda Stops a Bully
This book is a great book for children ages 4 to 8 or so. There are things recommended that children can actually do to stop a bully in his or her tracks. Books like this I like because they empower our children to make good strong choices. Freda also provides a great opportunity for conversation and healthy feedback when you read it aloud. Parents like to hear about ways they can empower their children to deal with bullying situations. Often how they deal with it is either a confidence booster or self-esteem robber! I highly recommend this book for a classroom or for a home library!

Review from Books That Heal Kids
I think it's important to try and steer kids away from running straight to an adult when they are dealing with a put down. Instead it sometimes is more empowering for kids to first try and handle it themselves if it falls under the category of small stuff. At our elementary school, we do a lot of teaching about the difference between a small and big problem. Freda Stops a Bully offers some great strategies for kids to shutdown the beginnings of a bully problem on their own. This book is DEFINITELY going to be a great tool to empower our kindergarten through second grade students. I love the four problem solving steps: Don't Listen; Walk Away; Get Help; Tell Them to Stop.
