The bits are good, but the box is GREAT! I got this set during a promotion for just under $10 for the set, and I wish I'd gotten several to give as gifts. The box alone is almost worth it, probably the best I've seen with a bit assortment. The lid is large, clear, and strong, letting you easily see exactly what is inside. I also much prefer the way the bits lock in place over the DeWalt set I own. With the DW set, I'm always fighting to get the bits back in place, and always seem to have a bit or two loose when I open the case. This set has a more secure retention, while at the same time is easier to use. Instead of prying the bits in/out of little rubber 'fingers' (DeWalt), with this case, you tip the top of the bit towards yourself, and it removes easily. When done, you re-insert it at an angle, and when you push the top of the bit down, it locks into place. Works well. Also has the best latch I've seen on a small assortment box, to boot.

This product is a total scam. It's also a very nice thing. Allow me to explain.The business model at play here is 100% cynical and customer-hostile. Bosch makes these sets to lock you into their own bits. They want you to be a Bosch bit junkie, like a patient who needs Oxy to get through every day of the rest of their life.How? Well, they no longer sell empty inserts. They only come filled with bits, whether you need them or not. Even if empty inserts were available, they'd annoy you, because they only comfortably hold Bosch bits. These bits have a skinny waist, like a wasp, which is exploited by the holder.I don't want to be such a bit-partisan. I want to be able to grab whatever. And I want to be able to organize the pile of bits I already got. And I'm betting you do too.So why 4 stars for this insulting thing? Number one, because it's very high quality and well designed, and so are the bits. I haven't used the Bosch bits long enough to have a strong opinion, but plenty of others online are saying they outlast their other bits. And number two, more surprisingly, this thing is a great deal. The box is so nice, they could probably get away with selling an empty one for this price, but you get it crammed full of high-quality bits. Yes, it's annoying that it's awkward to use with the bits you already have. And yes, it's annoying that it's not the exact selection of bits you'd pick if you were buying a-la-carte. But you're still getting great stuff at a great price.As long as Bosch keeps the prices where they are, I'll keep indulging them on this. They're losing some of my trust, but not my business. But Bosch, I hope you're reading: your customers aren't stupid. They know why you're doing this. And while they appreciate a good box and a good deal, they know there's no good will here.
