I bought this to pump 90W gear oil from a 5-gallon bucket to smaller containers for recycling. The hose ends are just pressed on so I went ahead and put 1/4" hose clamps on both ends before I used it based on the mess others reported. I'd say they were correct because although it seems like low pressure when you are pumping heavy oil it creates a lot of pressure in the hose.**NOTE: The free HF 5 G buckets are NOT standard size and this will NOT fit the top. The HF is larger in diameter. TSC buckets and WM buckets are the standard diameters that will accept lids and this pump.PROS:1) I pumped heavily sludged oil with this from an old Farmall H with zero pump/hose leaks. You do need to pump more slowly the more heavy the oils is otherwise something may give. The bottom line is it will work.2) The pump slides up or down in the lid in case you don't want to be right on the bottom.3) The pump has stand-off feet to maintain an air gap if it is on a flat bottom.4) It saves your back and prevents a major mess trying to dump 5 G of oil into a funnel on a smaller container . . . I know.5) Zero leaks6) PriceCONS:1) you need to supply 1/4" hose fittings to reinforce the hose connections.2) The hose is cheap PVC, but it worked for me. I'm not sure how long it will last and trends to fold where it comes out the top of the pump, however, the pressure expands it open.

Works pretty good. Handle broke after a few days of use but husband drilled a new hole and fixed it. Works fine now

Pumps easily, no leaks as some reviewers state, fits bucket.Not sure how some reviewers show rust, its fir oil not water.Lid is not meant to stop spills, common sense.Tighten plunger slightly before first use.Emptied 5 gallon bucket of 75w-90 in a couple minutes.Good deal.

On the 3rd use the threaded connection stripped out now guilds leak all over. I’ve tried two different kinds of pumps of this brand and seller and they were both complete junk. Don’t waste your money even if you just need it for a few times like me.

Needs a hose clamp to go over the barbed fitting coming out of the pump and the hose is pretty cheap but pump itself seems to work good so far

I used for replacing the 80w90 gear oil on my tractor front axle. The pump worked flawlessly. I'll echo the comments of other reviews that clamps are needed on the pvc hose otherwise it will pop the hose off. Excellent pump!

Easy assembly pumped the liquid without any issues

The pump would not self prime, it also spins extremely hard like it is seized up.
