Genuine Bone Folder Set, Scoring, Creasing, Folding, Burnishing Tool

Until I ordered and received this set of Vencink Genuine Bone Paper Folder/Creasing Set, I simply didn't realize the different in quality between a genuine bone product and the inferior plastic counterparts. I started folding my cardstock against a metal ruler, but the neatness wasn't there and my accuracy was off. Then, I ran to Hobby Lobby because I thought they would carry a quality paper creaser, but I was SO wrong! I bought the most expensive tool I could locate, excitedly took it home and used it on a finished product instead of running a tester crease, and ended up ruining my card. I could have cried! I used the metal ruler to line up the crease and ran the plastic creasing tool down the edge only to have the plastic peel off and cause the line to be noticeably imperfect. I did some online research to find that genuine bone creasers are the preferred method, and the VENCINK line the preferred brand. I was so happy to find an online seller who offered both the creaser and the scoring tools in a set for a few bucks more than what I paid for the plastic creaser! The ordering from Amazon was quick and easy, and I knew something was going on when the package arrived in two days and my dogs were going CRAZY over the box! I took out the tools and immediately LOVED the cool, silky finish and weight in my hand. I started testing the accuracy of the Vencink products, and I was genuinely impressed with how effortless and smooth the creases were to make. No dragging or rubbing of plastic, and there was NO damage or indentations left in the tools, even after using the edge of my metal straight edge. I realized then why my dogs had been so crazy over the box - it contained GENUINE bone smells! After purchasing the Vencink Genuine Bone creaser and scoring tools, I am starting to feel like an authentic artist. My lines and folds now look smooth, even, and professional, and I FEEL like a professional using these high quality tools. Thanks for your quality products!

I majored in graphic arts in college. By the time I graduated, the world had already shifted from rapidographs and bone folders to Adobe Illustrator and Macs. I had used bone folders to bind books and produce small-run items in the college graphics lab. From time to time, I still do small projects that require folding nearly 30 years later. I had one particular project that I was working on with my son that required some repetitive folding. We were putting together our project shopping list on Amazon and I saw this bone folder set. It wasn't a lot of money so I got it. It worked out well for the project. The ones we used back in the 90's were larger and my professor always took great pains to remind us that they were "whale bone" and "irreplaceable". I'm not sure what kind of bone these are but they're smooth, if only a bit smaller than I remember. The set works well for both creasing and folding. I crease on a self-healing mat with good results. If you want sharp, professional folds by hand, you need a bone folder.

I learned origami as child like a lot of people I think, but then stopped after high school. I recently picked it up again and thought I would start with something intermediate and immediately realized how big of a jump from beginner to intermediate actually is. So, I went back to the basics and found that one of the things that was recommend was a bone folder. I can tell you that I loved them immediately, not only do they leave clean and crisp lines, but the burnished creases make folding much easier as you are not fighting the paper get that last bit of the fold, it'll just collapse nicely when needed. It also make creases easier to see when they are needed. I like the feel of these particular creasers, the bone as a nice weight to it, light but strong. There no need worry about warping or bending as you would with plastic and they are smooth so they will not catch on the paper which might damage it or leave unwanted marks. tldr: These bone folders are awesome and will make your life easier. Get them.

Great bone folder/creaser set. I was using a plastic one that always left marks on my paper. So far, these have not. I'm glad I bought them. As for being real bone...I can't detect any smell whatsoever, but our German Shepherd seems to. Any time I have these out, he's at my craft table sniffing them.

Very good no issues

I got into paper folding this year after watching a bunch of origami videos on YouTube. After seeing someone use tools like these in one of the videos, I decided to give them a try. They worked great. Big enough and sturdy enough to do the job, without being difficult or awkward to use or control. The price was reasonable, and they produced nice creases and saved my fingertips. I would definitely recommend them.

I am not sure how to write this review, what I got is not what I ordered. My order was for two different shaped pieces, one curved and one straight, and what I got were two identical straight pieces, so that would suggest that I should drop a star. However I have kept the ones sent to me and I like them, so I don't feel that dropping a star gives an accurate review of the items, so I have decided to have a little grumble and then go ahead and review the items as sent. After all the manufacturer is the same and the items sent are compatible with my needs. Having had a bit of a grumble I will say that the items sent are of good quality, strong with smooth well defined edges and point - beautifully polished - and comfortable to hold. I use them for folding card and for burnishing my designs. I can recommend these Ventcink Bone paper creasers they work for me.

i’m a librarian, and lost my trusty real bone bone folder recently, so ordered these, as my plastic fallback just doesn’t cut it! they’re reasonably-priced, they came in perfect condition, and they’re tools i use nearly every day in my work. they have nice, sharp edges, and the rigidity of real bone makes such a difference, trust me!! (i’m also a vegetarian, but this bone is from cattle who are killed for others to eat meat, so i’m not conflicted. once animals have been killed to satisfy people’s desire to eat hamburgers, i don’t like seeing the rest of their bodies go to waste...it’s not as if they’re slaughtered just to make bone folders!)

This is a beautiful set of bone folders. A pleasure to use, even with my large hands. For the sake of a few pennies, stay away from the plastic ones, and get this set, you won't regret it.
