Privacy concern + support could not get this to work with my modem and Time Warner/Spectrum
I feel bad leaving this review because support was excellent, but they could not get this router/firewall to work for me, even after shipping a replacement.I have Time Warner/Spectrum cable internet through a TP-Link AC1750 DOCSIS 3.0 (16x4) Wireless Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router (Archer CR700) . I replaced an ASUS AC5300 Wireless Router [RT-AC5300 ] with this router, using the same port (port 1) on my modem (and I tried other ports as well), but after completing setup most internet addresses could not be resolved so almost all devices could not connect to the internet.I contacted their friendly support staff and they logged into my router and discovered that indeed, I was unable to connect to anything, and they did not see any issues with the setup so they sent a replacement. I had the same issues with the replacement. Support again logged into my router to check and it was experiencing the same behavior. So I sent both back for a prompt refund.Another issue I have with this router is that the company can jump onto it any time they want to at the time of my review. They asked for my permission first, but I didn't have to do anything to grant them access. I told them how uncomfortable I was with that, and that they should prioritize adding the ability for users to specifically GRANT access to remote access instead of it always being open. That's a huge privacy concern that I hope gets fixed quickly.Note that when I plugged my old router back in, it worked fine. So, I purchased an F-Secure Sense firewall/router (not yet available on Amazon at the time of my review), and have no problems with that router either. It connects to all sites quickly. Plus, it protects my devices just like this router does. It's a shame because I really wanted to use this router, but support could not get it to work even with the simple, default configuration on my cable modem. If you give this router a try, you can expect excellent support and a no-hassle return if you experience any issues, so if you are interested in it you should give it a try.

Amazing Product and Extraordinary Customer Service
The item arrived quickly and in fine shape. As it came from Amazon's Warehouse it had not been reset/flashed back to factory default settings. I contacted Roqos support and they were extraordinary. The immediately offered for me to ship the product back to them and they would reset it, fix it or send me a brand new item. As I live close to their offices, I dropped it off in the morning and it was reflashed and in perfect condition by the afternoon. I even spent about 45 minutes talking with their head of network operations and the CEO about the product, various settings and other technical stuff.Their customer service rivals (well, actually exceeds) that of Nordstroms and Amazon which is really difficult to do!I came home plugged it into my network and within about 5 min I was AMAZED about the activity it picked and the activity that I was able to stop cold. Turns out that one of the Antivirus/security products I use for my multi-OS device home sends pings to Slovakia for updates. Not really happy about that so blocked the countrey and I am moving to a US based support product. On both MACs, Ipads/phones and WIN 10 devices I was able to see numerous inbound and outbound pings to various countries even when the devices were in a "quiet" mode (not sleeping, but not being actively be used). I blocked many countries that I did not believe should be pinging my devices on the inbound side and have segregated my childrens' friends from hitting my internal network as they are now relegated to the "guest" network only. 48 hours into using it and I am still learning about all the Roqos capabilities and I continue to be amazed at what it can do. Once nice thing is that one can control the amount of data collected and stored on the device and clear the memory/cache whenever one wants. After a few more weeks, I will update the review with a more detailed set of initial thoughts. As of now, I rate it 6 of 5 stars. More to follow.

The mobile interface is easy to use
I was receiving log entries from my Netgear 8500 router about attempted Dos attacks and connection attempts from China, Russia and the Ukraine to a local LAN IP which indicated some of these were getting past my router. After inserting this unit between the router and my ISP modem these attempts have been intercepted by the Roqos, so I now have another layer for security which is exactly what I wanted. The mobile interface is easy to use, the only thing that might be additionally useful is if the logs indicated from which direction these originate (from inside or outside the LAN) to help identify potential malware meddling. I have read that some IP cameras have malware embedded in their OS's that instruct the camera to make connections back to foreign servers. So anyway, I have had the unit about a week and am delighted with it so far.

A good product, just needs a bit more polishing ...
I think this is most likely a really good product, and the Roqos help desk has been very helpful in getting it to work. However, at least in my case (using BT Infinity), it seemed to need pppoe enabled, and that apparently won’t be supported for another couple of weeks, so I have to run it behind my existing router. As I have an ASUS router with AI Protection, that’s exactly how I wanted to run it (the Roqos adding deep packet inspection to the ASUS’s intrusion prevention capabilities), but it may not be how you want to run it if you’re looking to replace your existing router. So be sure, if you want to avoid some potential short-term frustration. It would be helpful if this info was made clear up front, as in the UK most people will be using BT broadband. Other than that it’s quick, and has a strong signal. I’m still struggling to get my Mac Pro to connect for some reason, but Mac Book Pro connected instantly as did iPads and phones, so once you have it running it looks to be a good bet.

Works. Satisfied customer.
As of the time of writing, after a month and a half of use, the product works well. Much better than the Cujo I used to have, which didn't work straight out of the box and broke even though it was connected to a UPS.
