Mask is soft and comfortable to wear, gel freezes enough to make if cold and effective without getting so hard that it is painful.

Had eye surgery and needed to cool down the swelling. Frozen peas are ok as long as you remember not to eat them weeks later after freeze/refreeze so many times. These masks work very well and I sure won't be trying to cook them later! Glad I found them.

I had nasal surgery a few weeks ago and purchased these to use as ice packs to help reduce swelling, as recommend by my surgeon. I like the fact that there are two options, a full eye mask and an eye mask with cut outs for the eyes so you can still watch TV, use the computer, etc. I also like the soft lining to prevent the cold compress from coming in direct contact with your skin. Similar to other reviewers, I keep these in the freezer and not the fridge so they'll stay colder for longer. I found the elastic a bit big and will sometimes wear a stretchy headband over the elastic to help hold it in place, but that's my only 'complaint.' I highly recommend these for anyone recovering from nasal and/or sinus surgery!
