Essential tool
I recently used a solder wick for the first time during a PCB repair, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance! The braid was easy to use and effectively absorbed excess solder, making clean-up and component removal much simpler. The copper weave is tightly braided and well-coated with flux, which ensures excellent solder absorption without requiring excessive heat or pressure. The wick also held up well during use, maintaining its integrity without fraying or unraveling. This made it easy to maneuver into tight spots on the board, and the results were consistently clean, leaving the pads and components free of excess solder. For anyone working on electronics, especially beginners who might make occasional mistakes, this solder wick is a must-have tool. It’s reliable, efficient, and takes the frustration out of desoldering. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their soldering and repair work!

Circuit Board Work Made Easy.
The desoldering braid arrived on the promised date. Despite being my first time of using one, I followed the advice of previous buyers reviews on how to use it. It did the job beautifully in removing a USB component from a circuit board, much better than using a desoldering pump on its own.

Good product that works well
This is a good product that works well I used it in brasswork modelling only and it removed the over solder from the brass joints very well during restoration work.

Ultimate product for clear connections when soldering
Delivered quickly with no damage.Ultimate quick way to remove solder from joints to leave a clean hole to solder your new connection.First time I had used this product but very pleased with the results. Was used to replace a battery on my vehicles key which is soldered to the circuit board.Used the product to remove old solder from the connections before soldering new battery to the board and it worked perfectly - even if I did burn my finger on the soldering iron.

Passable quality
This desolderding braid is OK but not as good as the original Soderwick from Chemtronics, in two ways. It is not as densely braided, meaning the stands tend to separate beneath your soldering iron tip. It also does not seem to contain as much flux, so benefits from applying a bit before use. But it's pretty cheap and does the job reasonably well so I can't complain too much!

Fine if you use extra flux on the joint.
This is a very fine and narrow gauge copper wire, so be aware of this before buying.I used this on small mill-max sockets that had been overfilled so a perfect use for this narrow gauge. The wick does not come with flux applied, so you will need to apply a heavy amount of flux if you want to get a strong wicking ability; you may even need to use more than you realise. If you do this the solder does wick up nicely, but trying to use this on a dry joint just leads to burns and heat transfer. For the price I feel it could have come with some flux within the wick, but this is just a wish rather than a need to have.
