Great Larger Capacity Slow Cooker
I purchased this in March 2025. It gets used at least once a week primarily to make soups with lots of leftovers for the week, and I've made pot roasts in it in the past as well. Works great, haven't had any bad experiences with it so far. Temperature regulation seems consistent and appropriate for what I cook in it. Programmable cook time in 1/2 hour increments and drops to the warm setting automatically when the time you set is completed. I've never used it for much longer than 10 hours at a time, but apparently you can set it for a max of 18 hours. As with any slow cooker, I recommend using liners, saves time and lots of hassle with cleanup, and also prevents the stoneware from taking on the odor of whatever you're cooking in it. I also wash the stoneware and lid in the dishwasher, no issues there. If I had to complain about anything, the outer heater part of the cooker is a bit flimsy, but again, I've never had any problems from the point of functionality. The only other possible con I can think of for some people might be that it doesn't have a sealing gasket and locks on the lid for transport, though this hasn't been an issue for me, this cooker doesn't leave my kitchen counter, so your mileage may vary concerning that type of feature.

Best for busy/lazy people
Used it on the same day of arrival.Works perfectly fine, cooked 1.25lbs of lamb on high heat for testing. The lamb came out to be very juicy and fully cooked. Instead of 4hrs it was ready in 2hrs so be careful to check it by smelling and visual inspection. The outer surface(shiny silver) gets hot so be careful if you have kids around. 8 Quarts is quite big and heavy for handling and cleaning. The controls are quite intuitive and easy. Good value for money. There are no safety concerns unless you deliberately do something wrong by yourself.

Great slow cooker for roasts, stews, etc.
Bought this slow cooker as a replacement for a very old cooker where the lid handle had broken. This cooker is easy to clean, and works as advertised. My only complaint is that when cooking some foods that may generate a lot of steam, the lid on this cooker can rattle a little as steam escapes on one side. Unfortunately, this can make a big mess, as the sauce or juice of the food spits out a bit. Solved this issue by placing a paper towel slightly under the lip on the edge, allowing the steam to escape without rattling and no spitting. Removed a star for this workaround. Our old cooker did not have this problem.Food tastes great! Took it out of the box, washed it, and cooked a roast. No complaints! No odd smells. Didn't notice the rattling issue until a few recipes later, cooking a stew. The rattling issue isn't so bad I'd return this model, but I'll probably donate this to Goodwill at some point down the road and try a different model or brand. YMMV.

Perfect!
My family seems to blow through slow cooker meals! I get one bowl of soup, chili and such before it's gone. Not even around long enough to freeze leftovers. So it was time to purchase a larger slow cooker/crock pot. I have a smaller, similar one with the controller, that I truly love, but it's for one or two people. I also have my mother in-law's older Hamilton Beach 6 qt with the dial. It works just fine after many, many years it's just not big enough. So, I stated searching for a larger one. 10 qts seemed ridiculously large, 8 qt. is PERFECT! I read the reviews, thank you everyone for sharing your feedback. The exterior does indeed seem to get warmer than the 6qt, however it also has a much larger surface area. The lid that some complained about, can't see the issue. It sits like it should and I have no steam escaping from the crock so not sure what the issue possibly is? I'm increasing my favorite recipes by 50% and have not had to increase my cooking times at all. I was concerned with the extra volume I might, but this isn't the case. If you've done your research and understand what a slow cooker is, and how they are designed, what more could you ask for in a truly inexpensive cooker. I've fallen in love with America's Test Kitchen's Slow Cooker recipe book- highly recommend if you want to get the most out of your slow cooker. Enjoy your new slow cooker, I'm certainly enjoying mine!

8 Quart Size Good for Large Stews.
This is a good sized unit for making large dinners. It is perfect for families, for those who like lots of leftovers and for others who prefer to freeze amounts for several future dinners. The controls are easy to use and program, the inner part easy to clean (I would let it soak first if necessary) and the stew turned out perfectly cooked. The only thing we noticed was that the outside metal siding got very hot towards the end of the cooking cycle, something we can't recall for sure happening with our old unit. The manufacturer has addressed this by placing high heat warnings around the unit however. This is actually bigger than our last unit so it was a pleasant surprise. I recommend this product.

A good large-size option
My mom loves making ribs in her slow cooker. She used to have crock-pot but after two of them died over the course of a couple years, she wanted to give a new brand a shot. This one fits the bill nicely. So far she loves the capabilities of it, and finds it works very well so far. Long term durability will always be the determining factor, but at this point, still works great!
