This item does not work
I order the item installed it in my rge refrigerator. After I install it the water dispenser and the ice maker stopped working I called for a service call on May 30. The service person finally came out today August 2. Determined that it was the water filter. He said that this kind says the work but most of the time the do not I had to pay for a service technician and also replace the filter. Do not buy this Now I can return it because it is over 30 days from the time I received the product. Now I am stuck with 3 water filter that is useless I should be able return because it did not work

Don’t Waste Your Money
I bought these filters to use in a new GE refrig. Every single one gave an error message. They do not work. They are totally useless to me. As far as value, they are a good value and easy to install. Other than that they are totally useless. I suggest paying the extra for GE filters.I do not support or recommend this product.

This worked in my xwfe ge fridge. See review.
Water is amazing tasting vs my old clogged xwfe filter.To use this in an xwfe fridge:1. Use a hair dryer and heat the label of your old xwfe filter and slowly peel it off. Go slower than you think and don't damage the metal rfid sensor on the back of the label.2. Place it against the back of your fridge where filter goes. Take the plastic shroud off if you need to.3. Test your water dispenser.4. If it shows an error code, try adjusting your label location higher or more on that rectangular piece on the back wall.5. Purge water from the line. 2 gallons6. Scream F*** GE for trying to force people to use their product and inhibiting pure water for all.7. Enjoy.Use my picture for reference.Water for the people.
