Very good and easy to use

While I wasn't really expecting anything other than a negative result (I do practice safe sex, but had an impulsive encounter with a stranger that while great in the moment, afterwards did make think "was that wise...?"), the peace of mind this gave me was definitely worth the £33.The test arrived next day, well packed in very discrete packaging, which may be important reassurance depending on your circumstances.The test itself is far less complicated than it looks; there's an enormous leaflet that is probably a bit overdesigned, and if you're worrying, maybe a little overwhelming - but essentially "all you do" is unpack and lay out the simple kit, then give your fingertip a clean with the alcohol swab, stab it with the lancet (it's not that painful - I've had worse gardening!) squeeze a decent drop of blood out and then hold the test vial against it - it sucks up the blood, and you then just plug the whole thing into the little solution tub (it has a sort of 3-click foil break so you know you've done it properly) - then wait 15 minutes.The result is displayed as a basic line arrangement to let you know if it's a positive or negative (or failure) result.Obviously the 15 minute wait feels like 15 hours, even when you're already confident everything will be OK, so I can't imagine what it must be like if you think there's a real risk - so if you're in that position I would maybe recommend taking the test with someone you trust - a friend or family member for instance - because while I love the ease and accessibility, the one thing that worries me about home kits is how people on their own may deal with, let's not be glib, life changing news.So yeah - 10 out of 10 for the kit and user experience, but alongside the "what to do if" information in pack, it might be nice to provide some advice on getting support when taking the actual test. And also provide a biohazard disposal bag, which some kits have, but for some reason this does not!

What an easy test to use! Not sure why I was ever nervous to do this test. I would definitely recommend this test.

Terrible terrible terrible, do yourself a favor and buy the oraquick test for the extra £5. This item was defective.

So glad I eventually bought this HIV Self Test as I am now confident of my HIV status.It really is a very simple test to use and the prick from the lancet was not sore at all. Once I had pricked my finger there was only a tiny drop of blood that was needed to do the test.What I enjoyed most was how easy the steps were to follow from beginning to end so it helped me to relax whilst I waited for my result to appear.At the end of the day I had nothing to worry about and should have done this test a long time ago.I would definitely recommend the test.
