Hafele Wall Mounted Ironing Board by, easy installation & storage, folding

I bought this at a premium price when another comment mentioned that it was German made while the very similar ones were made in China. I've had good luck with German manufactures, for example the bottom-of-the-line Miele vacuum cleaner which does what I want it to do without fail. Chinese electronics are fine, but the hard stuff can be doubtful.Working slowly and putting up boards screwed into the studs and screwing into them instead of using the plugs provided to screw directly into dry wall, and painting the boards, all took me a day, 4-5 hours of actual work, but the result has been good. The complete ironing board as delivered weighs a ton. The painted finish is industrial strength; the board works smoothly without a hitch; the fold-out end is level and solid. Mechanically, looks like it will be trouble free for years. All I wanted, and thank you Germany. My wife approves of the board with no reservations.Tools I used in order of importance: Tape measure, two-foot level, pencil, electric drill, drill index, drill-driver, manual screwdrivers; mitre saw and box if cutting boards to mount the ironing board; if painting, foam brush and paint to match the wall. A chair. Patience.

This ironing board was more expensive than the others, and sometimes, if not always, you get what you pay for! This ironing board is extremely sturdy and well-made. Our handyman was able to install it within about 15 minutes, no problem. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Please buy this study one made in Germany and not the knock offs made in China. You will know by the cheaper price. My husband installed it and no problems. We already had a board mounted on the wall from the one we were replaced of 20 years old. It’s too bad the company doesn’t send a mounting board as it would be much easier for people. I also ordered an extra cover that I found at another site that goes on this model. Love it.

Having limited space and the fact that our ironing needs are minimal I looked for a wall mounted, folding ironing board. This product seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. However, the reviews seemed rather inconsistent until I discovered that there are two of these products identical in the pictures and description but one is German made (Hafele) and the other comes from China . Further explanation required? The Hafele is well worth a few extra bucks 'cause ya get what you pay for.

Very heavy duty metal frame. Like many others have written, a strong piece of wood (3/4" plywood or solid oak) secured to the wall first is probably the best way to attach it to the wall. I wish I had bought this years ago. In some ways it feels even more solid than my old 4-leg ironing board. The cover is thin but I find that actually makes ironing easier versus a thick mushy pad. This should last many years if not decades.Joe
