False alarms everytime it gets moist, not submerged.
7/10/18 update: the unit no longer works. Even though the sensor is completely dry, it won't turn off. I contacted the manufacturer on 6/25 and after 3 emails, no response. How's that for customer service?BUYER BEWARE!I installed this just as the instructions said. Mount on a piece of starboard and put in bilge area vertically. Since then, it turns on after being on the water for about 5 hours. It gets moist and starts beeping. Only way to turn it off is to completely dry it for a day or so. I'm going to get rid of this and get something else.

False alarm galore
Because of its sensor, the unit generated a false alarm in January. In order to shut it up, that forced us to open the already wrapped up boat for the winter. A waste of money, waste of time.

Peace of mind
When you go as far offshore as we do, it helps to have reliable peace of mind. This should be standard equipment on all pleasure vessels. Works as designed. Tested regularly. Always works. Great unit.

Not a reliable system
Not a good system, it’s based on a normally open circuit, if a wire from the water sensor breaks and renders the alarm useless you would never know. The better high water alarm systems works on a normally closed circuit, if bilge water level rises the sensor/float switch opens the circuit and triggers the alarm. The benefit of this system is if a sensor wire breaks the alarm goes off to warn you of the problem, plus the test button on the Johnson and others like it, only test the buzzer and light, nothing else. Therefore you cannot rely on this alarm system.
