Most natural 3D effect I have seen in a camera on the htc vive or google cardboard.
I purchased this one month ago. The company responded very quickly to a concern that I had. The CEO responded to me directly offered to send me a new camera if I could not wait for a firmware update. I appreciated his thoughtful offer and decided I could wait for the update. After the recent firmware update the camera works perfectly. The 3D effect is so natural it is almost not noticeable, it is simply the best 3D effect I have every seen in a video camera. Hard to describe. I placed the camera on box at my own eye level and put my kid's large praying mantis on my hands (on the table). When watching the video it is crazy how much it feels like there is a huge bug crawling on your skin. Very cool. After watching another video I took of people in the kitchen I literally felt like I was still in the room when I took the headset off. I used with google cardboard-type headset and HTC vive. Both look good. The vive is extra cool because you can control the distance from the center of the sphere. I am very curious about the 360 3D video applications. This is an update of a prior post before a firmware update. I purchased with my own money for my own interest and am completely independent. I also experienced some of the other issues mentioned in other reviews, but these have all been fixed with the new firmware. I also appreciate that the company worked so hard to keep me informed about the update.

Do Not Buy this Crap!!
The company has stopped making this camera and no longer supports it. I bought it in Dec and used it a handful of times. Recently when I tried to pull the footage off and on to my computer all the lights were flashing and it would not connect to my computer. I used the reset button and it fixed it but I lost the footage. However, it happened again yesterday and now the reset button wont work and the lights will not stop blinking even when I have turned it off. Its basically a paperweight now. Really upset I wasted my money trusting this company!!

OK camera with a few bugs. Company does not respond to emails or their support forums. Buy with caution.
I was really hoping to have a better experience with this camera. It has a few issues that I was hoping would be cleared up with firmware fixes, but I'm not even sure the company is still in business. No phone number for support. They didn't answer my e-mails and nobody is responding to any messages on their support forums. Going to return and wait for a bigger company to release a comparable camera.- USB connection to computer did not work out of the box. Needed to do a firmware update which was very clunky.- MicroSD card is not supported- Video preview does not work when the camera is in 4k or 3k mode.I believe this product has potential, but without support from the manufacturer it will fail.

Moving from 360 to 180 stereoscopic 3D
I've been using this camera for about a week. I'm a Windows mixed reality user. I've been creating 360 monoscopic videos for a while now. So I'm really excited to try out stereoscopic 3d.The first gripe I have is there isn't a lot of documentation for this camera. The FAQs on the website don't seem to cover a lot either. The camera by itself is pretty easy to operate. Out of the box, you have to update the firmware. It doesn't ship with all the available features, such as 4K, and erectangular output. You can update with the free Lucidcam VR app, but I ran into problems with the iOS app. I kept getting download errors, and couldn't figure out how to view the log. After playing with the app, without the wifi connection to the camera I noticed the app can't download over cellular data. To workaround this I had to launch the app before connecting the wifi to the camera. I was prompted to download new firmware, and it downloaded fine. I was then prompted to connect to the camera to finish the update. The 2k output looks horrible in mixed reality. After a firmware update, you can change the output to 4K in the app. This makes all the difference in the world. The 2K videos were watchable, but grainy. I'm not sure if they look better on your phone, but the Dell headset uncovers a lot of flaws. I haven't tried the erectangular format yet, nor exported anything to Facebook or youtube. But maybe the 2K footage looks better in those formatsI found a few more issues, some I'm still trying to resolve. The first is with using the SD card. I haven't found a way to force the camera to save to internal memory first, then the SD card. It seems to save by default to the SD card, then save to internal memory when the card is full. When I connected my camera to my computer, I could see the camera as an external drive, but I could only access the camera's internal memory. I could see the usage of the SD card, but couldn't see any files. The workaround is to put the card directly in to the computer, and only use the USB cable to transfer from internal memory.I wish Lucidcam offered some editing software for windows. Google VR only released editing software for Mac, and Linux. I'm using a Windows platform for Mixed Reality, so no help from google. This is disappointing because the camera will break your video files into 4GB segments. Eventually I'm going to need something to edit scenes, and merge my video files. I'm hoping that Pinnacle 22, or Magix Video Pro can handle these file formats. With the camera updated, shooting 180 video is much easier to deal with than 360 video. There's no stitching required. You can stand behind you camera, without getting in the shot. When I'm shooting first person style video, I hold the camera in front of my eyes. There's no viewfinder, but this method works if you keep your fingers on the white portion of the case. It is very easy to slip forward, and capture your fingers on video. A selfie could probably solve that issue for clumsy people. You'll want to purchase a hard case for this. It comes with a microfiber bag, but it doesn't protect the lenses very well.Since this type of photography is new, there are going to be some growing pains. This camera so for seems to be a good choice, provided I can find some good editing software for my Windows machine. Hopefully I'll be able to complete some fun projects in the future. This camera seems like a good choice to start recording some VR tours/tutorials.

Great to practice VR amateur stuff on. Just be careful because anyone can access on open wi-fi or steal the tiny SD cards
Terrific to make VR amateur videos. Just be careful because SD card went missing more than once. On trip to Hawaii, several SD cards full of porn with husband and others was stolen right out of luggage. Funny only the ones marked VR sex tapes were stolen.
