Works great....
I've ordered this once thus far about to place second order. For me, this is the best non-alcohol hair spray I've come across. Holds well for my liking and does not irritate my scalp like all of the previous hair sprays I've tried.I and not sure about the other reviews mentioning the past formula, and how good it was. But this version seems excellent to me.No smell, packaging was completely fine. It has worked well. I would recommend based on what I have received from my original order.

Love that there’s no alcohol, healthy body and hold.
I really like the feeling of strength it adds to my fine naturally grey/white hair when used after washing while still wet. It helps keep my hair from frizzy up as it air dries. I use a leave in conditioner after I towel dry. As a “hairspray” on dry hair it works but is pretty wet so needs to be applied carefully but it’s worth it to me since there isn’t any alcohol in it.

Works well!
I have a sensitive scalp and have had no luck finding a hair spray that does not irritate my scalp. I have tried different natural and organic products but they have all caused irritation and itching. This item has been great...no irritation or itching and it holds my hair well. Finally!

Terrible product on every level
What a terrible disappointment! I was a long-time user of the previous formulation of Lily of the Desert Aloe 80 Styling Spray. I never used it has hair spray, but my fine, thin hair was boosted significantly by spraying this product on damp hair, drying and then styling. Since there was literally nothing else on the market that provided such excellent support without fragrance, I got a sinking feeling when I went to order my next batch and found that the product was being discontinued. I stocked up on enough to last me for a while, then went on a hunt for something, anything to take it's place. There isn't anything. Then I saw the ad for this product, new bottle, same name, oh happy day! But when I used it for the first time, it had this funky, sour smell that lingered unpleasantly even after my hair was dry, a huge contrast to the fresh aloe smell of the old product. And when my hair was dry, it was as soft and limp as before I sprayed anything on it. Two strikes. Bad smell, no body. I tried to figure out why a company would discontinue a great product, then reengineer it to make it worse. I suspect the cost cutting scenario listed in the review below is likely, but STILL! Who would want it? Why go to the trouble of creating a product that doesn't work an ANY level? Charge us more for the quality, don't give us a lousy substitute under the same name. Seriously! Amazon has been great, issued a refund...thanks, guys...but Lily of the Desert has made a serious misstep.

Because it’s scent free, it smells like the ingredients
My daughter doesn’t like the smell and doesn’t think it helps a lot with her hair

Why I hate alcohol in hair spray!
Without going into detail on the chemistry of hair spray, I hate alcohol in my hair spray. The hair spray companies use what is referred to as short chain alcohol such as ethanol and isopropyl alcohol. Why, there are a number of reasons, but they do it mainly to make the spray fast drying, improves hold, and texture modification making the spray easier to apply. Problem is that short chain alcohol can dry the scalp leaving the cuticle rough and brittle causing scalp irritation. That's not to say all alcohol in hair spray is bad. Long-chain fatty alcohol can actually hydrate the scalp and hair. But good luck trying to determine whether the hair spray manufacturer is using short chain or long chain alcohol. Solution is to opt for a alcohol free hair spray. I have had good luck with this brand - Lilly of the Desert. Put an initial order in to try it out and it worked out well. It's not too heavy on the hair and so far, no scalp irritation. Have ordered again. I also like the price and packaging - affordable and shipped in a sealable bag in case of leakage.
