surprisingly good chili, tastes fresh, can even be eaten cold, no heat, cumin forward, tasty!
Two bean beef and tomato chili. Very good flavor. Zero heat, so you will want to add your own or try their spicy but not hot hot Stagg Dynamite chili . Has a strong cumin flavor. Overall tastes quite fresh, like something one would make at home (minus heat). For ingredient list, take a look at their product pictures. That image is accurate. Ignore the written portion as that is not the same as what is listed on my can. Also ignore that it says that it is "vegetarian" lol why? All my cans look good, no dents. Can be eaten as is, or use it to flavor up other chili base, or use over rice, pasta, chips, etc. I normally dont just buy canned chili as use as a chili. For that, I prefer to make my own. But I can eat this as a bowl of chili. Or I would add this into a homemade chili. And I would use it on just about anything else. So yeh, pretty good on its own or over other stuff. But that's just me. Your experience may vary.. so take reviews as just that. I would look for comments pertaining to quality-- dented cans, weird taste beyond realm of reasonable, if anything looks off, etc. A simple "yuk" or "yum" is just an opinion. That being said, I find this to be "yum". haha Tastes good at room temperature too. Just grab a spoon, peel back that lid, and eat up. There is no coagulated fat or gross bits. I'm rather impressed with this Brand, and this specific variety of chili. Basically.. it is a good addition to long term pantry/emergency food. Has good amount of protein, fiber per serving. 2 servings per can, loaded with sodium as to be expected. Lends to a long shelf life. Not too shabby a price. I do not rate on price as I can clearly see the price before purchase. It isnt a mystery. Also, we all have different budgets, needs, preferences, there are price fluctuations, price and demand, availability etc. So, if price looks good to you, then go for it. I try to buy canned meals like this when they are around $2 per can, but that is becoming more and more rare, unfortunately. But look for sales, or if you have the budget, please fill up your pantry NOW while you still can. Best to have extra. Generous 5 stars as it pretty much meets my expectations all around. I would buy this again, and I do recommend it.

Stagg is one of the best canned chilis
Great overall chili especially for canned, not the best but Stagg does a better job than most. Wish they'd reduce the sodium though.
W**?
God knows.
I'd like to know more about this meat. God knows how it's sourced and from where. Wish it said "organic" on the label. 4 stars for being above average.

Yummy investment, worth the purchase!!
All natural, amazing flavor and texture, expires in over 2.5 years, great! No can opener needed, soooo awesome!! It's flavorful and yet not very spicy, which is great, sometimes i like it spicy other times not. Price per can makes it very affordable, as a single parent struggling, it is so helpful!!

Gone downhill
Flavor is good but product is a bit soupy. Stagg is getting chintzy. Used to be thick with beef, beans and green chilies

Comparison on chili
I did a side by side comparison on Stagg, Campbell's, Wolf, Hormel and Chili Man chilies. I did mild vs mild and hot vs hot. Stagg chili regardless of heat had the most consistent looking chili. Slightly thicker and darker base. You can tell spices were bloomed prior. It has a rich deep tomato base. Beans arrange and whole with small chunks of tomatoes and meat. This is a thicker and hearties chili. Campbell's has two styles of chi that are more soup like in consistency. Beans are broken and in smaller pieces with a smaller ground beef.. Very few peppers visible. Heat on yellow label is very mild while the hot and spicy does have a slight heat to it. I would in no way call it hot nor spicy. I always add quite a bit more heat. Wolf brand...this chili was again on the milder side as was their hot variety. Was slightly thicker than Campbell's and had a large amount of grease in all varieties. Hormel was by far my least favourite chili. So much grease that had to be removed prior to consuming. Heat again was extremely mild on all sides with broken beans and miniscule pieces of meat. No sign of any peppers or tomatoes. Chili Man chili is manufactured by Hormel as their higher quality chili. Which at one time was a superior canned chili. Now it also contained small broken pieces of beans with small pieces of meat. The Angus style was slighter hearties and had a little better flavour. I will continue to purchase Stagg Dynamite as a preferred canned chili. It reminds me more of chili I personally make. It's great on days when I crave something comforting and heartier. This one has a good amount of heat but it's not one that's going to scorch your palate . I do add a little more heat to mine. I will also purchase Campbell's because of the soup consistency. You get 4 oz more in the can with it being additional liquid. Definitely need to add heat.
