Q: How much does the jacket weigh, in grams or ounces? (no need to respond if you don't know the answer!)

I have a size medium. It weighs 14.7 oz (417 grams). For packing, I can roll it up into a cylinder 9” by 4”.

Q: I weigh 175 lbs. Should I get a medium or large?

Get it large. You don’t want it tight

Q: Can the hood be secured into the collar somehow (zipper pocket? snaps? other?)?

The hood is already attached. sewn on

Q: Will this repel storm rain?

Not sure what storm rain is? I have been out in light to medium rain for short periods of time and stayed dry. If your talking about moons then probably not. It’s a value priced rain jacket, expect it to perform at the level of the price.
