Does this product automatically spin or rotate back to zero (0) when you release the knob?

No it doesn’t. No spring. Just set to position and it stays.

Same as almost every other potentiometer. 1 & 3 terminals are the ends of the resistor. 2 (middle) is the variable terminal that changes as the pot is rotated.

The potentiometer you can used with VFD, it can handle the VFD to do that. But if the intentions is to control speed with the potentiometer directly not.

I have multiples of these and they work perfect

Easy to install, works perfectly. I have multiple 3 phase machines running off vfd's and use one of these on each vfd to control the speed at the machine. Never have any issues.

Great resistor

This is a great resistor. I mounted it inside a plastic box and hooked up banana plugs to it. It makes testing fuel gauges easy. Great value.
