An important feature for these types of timers is for the relay to click on whenever you turn it to automatic (with the manual switch from either on or off) if the time is within the programmed on period, but this one will only turn the relay on (close the switch) when the time comes around to "on" . In other words, if I have the timer set for 1pm to 3pm to be on, and the time is 2pm, if I then turn the timer to automatic (from the off or on position), the timer will not turn on , until the next day at 2pm.

Timer is a very capable device. Installs easily and works well. Remember to set the unit to auto for proper operation.

Purchased for my electric 24V Gate Openers and even with timer open and close feature completely off, the time is causing my gates to open.

Very Important detail. Set to AUTO from the CURRENT TIME condition. Once programmed, whatever the current time condition would be, go to AUTO from that manual condition. Example, if the current time is 3:15 pm, and the timer should be off at that time, be sure to go to off and then to AUTO.
