Incredible slow burn, enemies-to-lover, fantasy romance
Rating: 4.5 starsIf you love morally gray complex characters and captivating plot lines with high stakes, you have to read this book. It is a slow burn, enemies-to-lover, fantasy romance with incredible characters. These characters are stubborn, prideful, and utterly flawed. However, after learning their history and motivation, you can't help but respect and fall in love with these characters despite how monstrous they can be. As for the romance, it does build up very slowly throughout the course of the novel, but trust me, it was completely worth it.This novel does have some repetitive dialogues, but I still enjoyed the writing and the many twist and turns ... and THAT ENDING ...blood needs to be spilled for what happened...

Liam and Dianna are EPIC
4.5 StarsAmber, what have you done 😭 THE ENDING!! I can’t 😭😭 when is book two coming out?I can’t even imagine how this story is supposed to entail five books overall. Dianna and Liam already went through so much in this book, what else are they supposed to endure? I can’t, I literally can’t…I love how Liam is such a big teddy bear and open with his feelings and so on and I really liked how he and Dianna went from enemies to more. They were literally enemies in the beginning. Both are not heroes in this story. Both already committed atrocities to save those they loved. I liked how Amber was portraying them as not being “good” guys. The story and world as such is really complex, which took me a moment to get into, but I like reading a book where not everything is explained in the beginning. Gives me that tense feeling, you know.I need more of Dianna and Liam, like right now.

Original, Beautiful, Tragic
The Book of Azrael by Amber Nicole is my second 5/5 of 2023. The morally grey main characters are essentially the villains, resulting in a refreshing twist in the fantasy world. The ultimate enemies to lovers with a unique and engaging magic system. Liam/Samkiel is one of my top MMC’s and is in good company with Rhysand, Cassian and Casteel. The sequel “The Throne of Broken Gods” comes out May 23rd and it is highlighted and underlined in my calendar.
